Rangers are a good class as they have a variety of abilities to choose from, but they’re not anything special, hence they rank last on this list.
10Rogue
Primary Attribute: Dexterity
While Rogues are a pretty high-damage class, they’re mostly involved with stealth. If you’re a player who doesn’t prefer stealth, then this class isn’t for you. Plus, its sneak attack isn’t that powerful.
9Druid
Primary Attribute: Wisdom
Druid is a very fun to play class, and its spells are pretty useful, especially Wild Shape, which allows you to turn into animals and can be very effective in gameplay.
8Fighter
Primary Attributes: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution
Fighter is essentially a strength-based class and is very useful in combat, allowing you to wear any armor or use any weapon you’d like. Outside of combat, though, they’re not that useful.
7Barbarian
Primary Attributes: Strength, Constitution
Barbarian is another strength-based class and has the most health out of any class, which can be very helpful in combat. If you’re a fan of playing aggressively, then this is the class for you.
6Wizard
Primary Attribute: Intelligence
Wizard is an extremely versatile spell-based class that can cast a variety of spells and permanently learn new spells too. They don’t often run out of spells, but when they do, that’s when they become less useful.
5Sorcerer
Primary Attribute: Charisma
Sorcerer is another spell-based class, just like Wizard but not as versatile. They can do huge amounts of damage, and you can modify your spells using Metamagic. The downside is that they have low health, and their defense is as good as a wooden plank, so it’s pretty much a glass cannon class.
4Paladin
Primary Attributes: Strength, Charisma
Paladins are very fun to use spellcasters, and they have a lot of uses outside of combat like supporting others, healing others, and obviously doing a good amount of damage to opponents. But they don’t have a wide variety of spells or good ranged attacks, which is their biggest downside.
3Warlock
Primary Attribute: Charisma
Warlock is another versatile spellcaster who doesn’t have many spell slots, but they’ve got tricks up their sleeves for every situation, which makes them very useful. In addition to that, their spell slots have short refresh periods.
2Bard
Primary Attributes: Charisma, Dexterity
Bards are incredibly fun to play with, as they have spells for any situation and are very good at manipulation. The biggest advantage is that you can completely avoid fighting enemies by using manipulation tactics and spells.
1Cleric

Cleric is the best class in Baldur’s Gate 3, as they’re not only fantastic healers but also very versatile spellcasters with a great variety of spells. They’re useful in pretty much any situation, and their shields and armors are good enough to last in combat.

All of these classes and subclasses are very fun to play with, and each of them has their own different skillsets, spells, abilities, etc. None of the classes are useless per se, but some are more useful than others.
3. Can I multiclass in Baldur’s Gate 3?
You can multiclass in Baldur’s Gate 3. The developers themselves previously confirmed this on Reddit. Multiclass wasn’t available in early access but is expected to be available in the game’s full release in August.
They stated that the multiclass will be close to Dungeon & Dragons 5th Edition, meaning you’ll be able to switch to any class as long as you have the required stats. In this game, 13 units is the stat requirement.
4. What is the easiest class to play with in Baldur’s Gate 3?
According to a lot of players, Cleric and Fighter are the easiest classes to play with in Baldur’s Gate 3. Barbarian is a great and easy melee class for beginners too. Any class is fine for a beginner, as learning the ropes is quite simple.
It doesn’t really matter which class you choose to begin your journey with, as all of them are quite fun and easy to play. But if you do want an easy class that involves just hitting stuff and getting through the game, then go for Fighter or Barbarian.
5. Does Baldur’s Gate 3 have a Monk class?
Baldur’s Gate 3 does have a Monk class, and it’ll be available in the game upon release. In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, lead writer Adam Smith explained why one should go for Monk when choosing classes.
“A Monk’s great because they’re so quick,” Smith said. “Once you get to level six or seven, it feels like you’re taking five turns for anyone else’s one turn because you’re running around darting all over the place”.
