The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kentaro Yabuki’s romantic comedy fantasy manga Ayakashi Triangle announced that the anime would face a delay.
The anime’s production committee cited the impact of the increase in COVID-19 infections on its production schedule.
The third and fourth episodes will still air on schedule, on this Monday and the next. In lieu of the episodes that have been delayed, the anime will be re-running the first to the fourth episode on February 6.
The anime’s website and Twitter account are yet to announce the broadcast and streaming schedules of episode 5 and beyond.
Additionally, the first Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume of the anime has been delayed from March 29 to September 27. The subsequent second to sixth monthly volumes are also delayed from October 2023 to February 2024.
Ayakashi Triangle is the third Aniplex television anime to suffer from delays and changes in production schedule this season. Other animes that have faced delays are UniteUp! and NieR:Automata Ver 1.1a.
The anime premiered in Japan on January 9. Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs.
The anime is directed by Noriaki Akitaya at studio CONNECT, with the series composition by Shogo Yasukawa. The character designs are by Hideki Furukawa and Rei Ishizuka will serve as the music composer.
The manga was first launched by Yabuki in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in June 2020. Shueisha will publish the manga’s 12th compiled book volume on January 4. Viz media and Shueisha are both publishing the manga in English.

The story focuses on Kazamaki Matsuri, a teen ninja exorcist who fights ayakashi. When his childhood best friend, Suzu, is in danger of being devoured by a spirit, he stands as a barrier and gets cursed.
Due to the curse, his body transforms into that of the girl. Now, Matsuri has to get accustomed to his new body while trying to protect Suzu and undo the curse.
