Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 Ep 10: Release Date, Speculation

Episode 9 of Attack on Titan, season 4, part 2, titled “Night of the End,” is the latest installment of the anime.

In this episode, we saw Hange and Levi join forces with Magath and Pieck. This happened because after suffering from a fatal blow, Levi was willing to do anything to kill Zeke and also because Hange was against Eren’s genocide plan.

Jean had his doubts while joining this alliance, but when the weight of Marco’s death dawned upon him, he couldn’t sit idle and do nothing. Armin and Mikasa were also confronted by Annie, who asked them if they could kill Eren.

It’s clear that the two still don’t want to use violence against their friend but they acknowledge the severity of this situation. Their plan to locate the Founding Titan is set in, but an enormous hurdle in the form of the Jeagerists still awaits them.

Will this unlikely alliance manage to defeat the Jeagerists and stop Eren? We’ll find out in the next episode.

Episode 10 Speculation

The battle between the Jeagerists and the new Paradis-Marley alliance will begin in the next episode. The former has taken control of the harbor, which was meant to be used for observing the rumbling. This implies that there will be a gruesome fight to gain back control.

An important thing to note about this episode was the parallels between Hange and Erwin before his final fight. Back in season 3, we saw how Erwin was weighed down by the lives of his comrades and how he felt surrounded by them during his final moments.

This imagery is similar to that of Hange when she is surrounded by hundreds of Survey Corps members while talking to Jean.

This could imply that she, too, could lose her life while fighting for humanity, just like the previous commander. Whatever happens, this battle is going to be very important for humanity.

Hange meets up with Jean and Mikasa and tells them about her current situation. She explains that they have joined forces with Marleyans to stop Eren, and she also needs their help.

Jean questions Hange if that really is the right path because if Eren’s plan is a success, they’ll finally be free, and if they stop him, the entire world might hate them even more.

Hange acknowledges these threats and still doesn’t faze because, in her mind, genocide isn’t the solution. She tells him that hundreds of their fallen soldiers must be watching them, and this isn’t what they would have wanted. Jean remembers Marco and makes up his mind to follow Hange.

We cut to the Marleyans seated around a bonfire with their new allies from Paradis. Things are still bitter between the two parties as Magath tells them they were so close to stopping Eren but couldn’t because they interfered.

Hange replies that genocide wasn’t their goal and if it was that, they wouldn’t have been allied in the first place.

Jean gets annoyed at the general’s comments and expresses that if Marley hadn’t sent the titans to kill the people at Paradis, nothing would have happened. Their debate starts turning into a fight, and Hange stops them before things get out of hand.

Annie asks Mikasa and Armin if they are capable of killing Eren. They hesitate, and Mikasa becomes defensive. Armin says they plan to talk to Eren about this plan and try to convince him to stop. Annie points out that Eren has already pushed himself into coming genocide, and talking to him won’t make a difference.

Hange once again steps in and stops their fight from escalating. She tells everyone that according to Kiyomi, there’s a flying boat meant to observe the rumbling ready at the harbor, and they can use it to locate the Founding Titan.

She continues by explaining how locating the Founder is the real problem since they’ll be out of fuel in no time if they fly around aimlessly. Magath turns to Yelena and asks her if she can predict Eren’s movements. She retaliates by saying that she has nothing to do with them and has no reason to help them.

It is then revealed that Yelena was a pure Marleyan this whole time, and she curated a fake identity to go down in history as a girl from a small country, helping Zeke save the world from all Eldians. Yelena isn’t fazed at all and proceeds to list down all the terrible crimes committed by everyone seated there.

This leads to Reiner and Annie confessing about Marco’s death. He explains how they left Marco to be devoured by titans because he discovered their identity. This makes Jean extremely angry, and he attacks Reiner.

Gabi runs to Reiner’s rescue and stops Jean by using herself as a shield to stop Jean. She cries that all they wanted was to get rid of the devils on the island so that the world would accept them. She asks him to help them, but Jean ignores her and moves away from Reiner.
