Attack on Titan Manga Delay Ends, Chapter 129 Will Be Released Next Week

Attack on Titans is one of those few mangas which have maintained a spotless record. By this, we mean that the manga has never been on a hiatus for the past 10 years, except for the recent two month-long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Chapter 128 was released in the April issue of the Bessatsu magazine, and an official announcement was made regarding the delay of chapter 129. Chapter 129 was originally supposed to air in the May issue of the Bessatsu magazine but was delayed to June 9.

As the chapter’s release is near, we are finding it harder to stay put and not daydream about the upcoming plot. Hajime Isayama, the author of Shingeki No Kyojin, has always surprised us with unexpected twists. Maybe something staggering will take place in the upcoming issue as well.

So far in the story, Armin and Connie somehow managed to fool everyone about their actual intentions but were found in the last chapter. Their plan was to use the flying boat to rescue the Azumabito clan.

They tried to convince Floch of their lies but to no avail. Armin was shot at, and both of them were termed as traitors. As Reiner and Annie transform into titans, their chance at a bloodless siege evaporates.

Chapter 129, titled “Nostalgia,” will finally show us if Armin is still alive after he was fatally wounded. Maybe the chapter name is a hint for what is to come.

In war, soldiers often think about their families and their past life. In this grave situation, where a lot of soldiers will get killed, ‘nostalgia‘ and ‘pain‘ are the two prime emotions that will take over.

Who exactly is getting nostalgic here? What triggered the memories in this blood-filled place? We have to wait for the upcoming chapter to have all our questions answered.
