Latest ASUS Beta BIOS features non-binary memory

At ROG Forums earlier this week, a screenshot from ASUS Tech Marketing showed that the X670E motherboard is set to support nonbinary memories like 24GB, 48GB, and 96 GB.

ASUS in-house overclocker Shamino has confirmed that the first BIOSes for the AMD 600 series are now available. This firmware update enables 24Gb and 48GB nonbinary DDR5 module support.

It has to be kept in mind that the BIOSes are still not out in the public domain and are clearly not intended for public use. It’s only meant for testers and enthusiasts.

As per the official details, AMD 600 has a 128GB cap. This is in partnership with Corsair whose Vengeance lineup produces 48GB (2 x 24GB) 7000 MT/s modules.

Those needing even more RAM can go for the upcoming Corsair Vengeance kits of 192GB (4 x 48GB) which will offer a speedy 5600 MT/s data transfer rate.

The complete list of the ASUS Z790 motherboards compatible with the new DDR5 module support has been released. Updates for the ROG Strix, Crosshair and Creator Series have been listed too.

ASUS has planned updates for the ASUS B760, H770, and 600 series, which will follow soon.

Interested parties should head to the Asus ROG forums page, where there’s a 50-page long thread, as reported by Twitter user @9550pro. The steps should be adhered to strictly to prevent any issues.
