Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to launch two months later. Fans are excited to dive back into the world of stealth and parkour. Since the game is going to be an homage to the first title in the series, many were hoping it would not include an irksome feature.
It has been confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature microtransactions, much to everyone’s disappointment. However, Ubisoft claimed that paid content will not be vital to the gameplay loop. Microtransactions in Mirage will be limited to cosmetic packs only.
So far, only the Fire Demon Pack has been confirmed as a cosmetic bundle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It will contain a flaming sword, full set of armor, and a chamfron horse mask. A single cosmetic pack is estimated to cost anywhere between 500 to 800 credits or $5 to $8.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will not have an XP-based leveling system as seen with the last three entries in the series. Players can expect a plot-driven gaming experience without the unfair advantage of shortening quests provided by microtransactions.
Aside from this, there have been rumors circulating that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will feature real gambling. However, this speculation is solely based on the Xbox store listing which mentions “paid contests” and wagering.
It is also unconfirmed whether Ubisoft will be releasing any additional quests in the form of paid DLC since Ubisoft Creative Director clearly stated that Mirage won’t have substantial post-launch support. As disappointing as it sounds, Ubisoft has a ton of other content to focus on instead of relentlessly dedicating their team to Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage is scheduled to release on October 12th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
