Assassin’s Creed Mirage fan sees isometric FOV due to a camera glitch

Ubisoft Bordeaux has given the Assassin’s Creed fans a true Assassin’s Creed title in the form of Mirage. As a result, it has become financially the most profitable title for Ubisoft.

On Reddit, u/SplashDMG126 spotted a camera glitch that turned Assassin’s Creed Mirage into an isometric game – a top-down camera perspective – instead of the usual close-up camera that follows the protagonist – in this case, Basim. The glitch shows how Baghdad, and its residents are affected by the parkour of Basim but somehow remain oblivious to his presence.

Isometric titles were top-rated in the early 2000s, similar to the Prince of Persia games. However, Ubisoft’s unique camera system made the Assassin’s Creed franchise stand out from its competitors.

Redditors were impressed by this camera glitch. Some players queried how to replicate it, but sadly, that is impossible since it’s a FOV glitch.

This might give modders some ideas, and they could be looking to detach the cameras in-game and make Assassin’s Creed: Mirage an isometric title.

The OP said the glitch reminded them of Seven: The Days Long Gone, an isometric title with rich Assassin’s Creed vibes. A new camera system would give a breath of fresh air to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is revamped.

Mirage, which happens 20 years before AC: Valhalla, features a 17-year-old Basim under mentor Roshan. Mirage is also a much smaller title, sitting at just 33GB, less than a third of Valhalla’s mammoth 111GB.

Assassin’s Creed also features a smaller map size, which Ubisoft Bordeaux more intently designs. The map is built for verticality and stealth.

As a result, players have enjoyed the revamped feel of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Mirage, which is out now, has rejuvenated the franchise fans, who were fatigued by the long epic tags of AC: Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
