The Lord of the Rings prequel on Prime Video, The Rings of Power, had a successful premiere season and plans to elaborate on the introduced story for four more seasons. One of those stories in the big picture is that of the Silvan elf, Arondir, who has a big arc in the upcoming season.
As explained by Ismael Cruz Córdova, who plays Arondir in the fantasy series, in an interview with TVLine, the following season will test the elf’s knowledge and experience about the world as he enters a new “human dynamic.”
We’re always talking about elves and human relationships and humans as babies in the eyes of elves, but I think it’s reversed with him entering a more human dynamic. He is a baby in terms of knowing how to be domestic and how to be a dad or a boyfriend.

The actor also added that his connection with Bronwyn and Theo, and his new life with the Southlanders in Pelargir, will eventually pose a life-altering decision in front of him – when push comes to shove, will he side with the elves or humans?
That’s the meat of the conflict of this guy. At the end of the day, he’s an eternal being. He’s going to outlive humans in one way or another. He’s chosen to go with the humans right now, but if he gets called upon, will he choose his family or his people?

At the end of season 1, we see Arondir head to Pelargir with the refugee Southlanders to start a new life after Adar turns their villages into Mordor. Season 2 will continue to show his deepening bond with Bronwyn and Theo, with some ups and downs when it comes to gaining the trust of the humans as an elf.
But with the three rings of power forged and a new battle coming, there will come a time when humans and elves must stand alone or even against one another. Then, Córdova’s character will face a decision that will turn over his life again, for good or worse. Will he side with his kind or with his newfound family?
Season 2 of The Rings of Power is currently in production, and we can estimate a 2023 release date for the series to return.
