Latest Call of Duty Games are Officially Coming to Nintendo Switch

Call of Duty is undoubtedly one of the most famous FPS videogame series worldwide. This best-selling videogame franchise is currently only available to play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.

Back in 2013, CoD: Ghosts was also available on Nintendo Wii U, and it was the last CoD title to be accessible on any Nintendo console, but the same will not be the case anymore.

Call of Duty games are now coming to Nintendo Switch, as confirmed by Brad Smith, the Vice Chairman and President of Microsoft, on February 21, 2023.

In a brief tweet, he said,

Microsoft and Nintendo have now negotiated and signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo players.

Further, CoD will arrive on “the same day as Xbox” with identical features and content, letting Nintendo players experience the same game as PlayStation and Xbox users.

When are Call of Duty games coming to Nintendo Switch?

Brad Smith’s tweet confirms that CoD games will soon be available on Switch, but there are currently no official release dates.

As the Tweet does not specifically talks about the Switch, there is a high possibility that CoD will be coming to Nintendo, but it may entirely skip over the Switch altogether and get released on the next upcoming console from Nintendo, whenever that will be.

But as of now, these are all just speculations, and I don’t know when Nintendo plans to release a new console or what the release date is for any CoD game for Switch.

All Call of Duty games including Warzone and Warzone 2 will soon be available on Nintendo consoles as confirmed by the Microsoft officials.

However, it is difficult to say if the Switch will be able to handle the latest CoD titles like Warzone 2, which requires a lot of storage space and powerful GPUs. In any case, it will be available on either Switch or any other console that Nintendo may release in the near future.

Are any Call of Duty games available on Switch?

Nintendo Switch currently does not support any of the Call of Duty games, including Warzone. However, gamers can still play the older CoD games on previous generations of Nintendo consoles.

Currently, CoD: 3, the original Modern Warfare, World at War, Black Ops, and MW3 are available on Nintendo Wii. Additionally, Black Ops II and Ghosts can be played on a Wii U.

Xbox games will be coming to Nintendo, as confirmed by Brad Smith in his tweet. It means that games like Psychonauts 2, Halo, High on Life, and more will also be soon available on the Switch, along with Call of Duty.

However, similar to the CoD situation, there is currently no official list of Xbox games that will be available on Nintendo consoles, nor is it confirmed when they will be released.
