Apple Unveils M2 Chip, the Next Generation of Silicon for MacBooks 

Over the years, Apple products have only improved, owing to the creation of the M1 chip. Being the first chip in the Silicon lineup, the M1 helped Mac devices dominate competitors in several areas like graphics performance, computing power, and storage.  

Ever since Apple brought along the Silicon transition, almost every Mac product reformed to incorporate an M1 chip, But given that innovation is the essence of technology, companies cannot afford to stop making great strides.  

Apple, too, is aware of it and, consequently, has unveiled the new and powerful M2 chip during its annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC). 

With 100Gbps of memory bandwidth, 24GB of unified memory, and the capacity to undertake nearly sixteen trillion operations per second, M2 will pack unbelievable power-efficiency and computing expertise.

The tech giant claims that the chipset offers an 18 percent faster performance in contrast to its predecessor and yet promises a longer battery life.  

In addition to this, Apple also put the spotlight on the MacBook Air and the thirteen-inch MacBook Pro, which are the first two notebooks to house the M2 chip. 

The Air will boast a new fan-less body that makes it slimmer than previous generations, a 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display, and all-day battery life. It is slated to hit the shelves in July and will be priced at $1,199. 

Completely redesigned around M2, MacBook Air is thinner, lighter, and faster with a bigger display, better camera, and all-day battery life, in four beautiful finishes. MacBook Pro, on the other hand, will feature 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores that would let it utilize ProRes acceleration in 4K and 8K resolutions with up to 24GB of fast unified memory while offering 20 hours of battery life. This thirteen-inch notebook will cost interested buyers $1,299.
