Annie Makes Her Return In Attack On Titan Chapter 125

Attack on Titan has been serializing new chapters for almost a decade now, and according to the creators, the end of the series is in sight. As the story is nearing conclusion, old loose ends are being tied up to give it a sense of completion.

Chapter 125, titled ‘Sunset,’ confirms Annie’s return to the series after 8 years since she enclosed herself in a rock hard crystal.

Annie Leonhart was first introduced as a part of the force of humans created to keep the titans at bay. Still, she was revealed to be an undercover titan soon after. Her mission was to bring back the Founding Titan, Ymir, with the help of fellow Warriors Reiner Braun, Bertolt Hoover, and Marcel Galliard.

She was the first female Titan introduced in the series and was captured, thanks to Mikasa and Eren, at the end of the Female Titan arc in 2012. Since then, she was left in her unconscious state, and was stored deep underground under the custody of the Survey Corps.

8 years have passed since then (4 years in the story’s timeline), and she has officially made her return. Eren, in an attempt to show the Eldian people’s power, nullified the hardening of the wall titans to lay a siege on Marley.

In this process, Annie was forced to emerge from her rock-hard cocoon as well. After appearing, she has taken a colleague hostage and is trying to get in touch with Eren.

About Attack on Titan:

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by Titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings, and, worst of all, seem to do it for pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, which are even taller than the biggest Titans.

Fast forward to the present, and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren Jaeger and his sister Mikasa Ackerman witnessed something horrific as the city walls were destroyed by a Colossal Titan that appears out of thin air.
