Anime Japan 2020 Cancelled Due To CoronaVirus Outbreak

One of the biggest threats to the human species currently is the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, which has been spreading rapidly throughout the globe.

Due to the disease’s contagious nature, large-scale social gatherings in countries where cases of this virus have been seen are being avoided.

In light of the recent outburst of coronavirus in Japan, AnimeJapan 2020, scheduled for 21st-24th March, has been canceled. The organizers are offering refunds for admission tickets starting on March 6.

AnimeJapan 2020 was scheduled to take place from March 21-24 at Tokyo’sTokyo’s Big Sight. The organizers also put up a press release on their website about the cancellation of AnimeJapan 2020 and Family Anime Festa 2020

In the face of the recent novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the call from the Japanese government to cancel large-scale events made on February 26.

But most of all thinking about the health and safety of our visitors and everyone involved in the event we have decided to cancel AnimeJapan 2020 and Family Anime Festa 2020.

We are incredibly sorry towards all the anime fans looking forward to this year’s edition and all involved parties who were preparing for the event. However, the conclusion has been made to prevent the further spread of the infection.

The outburst of this deadly virus has also affected the production of much upcoming anime for the winter 2020 season.

It is currently unclear just how much this disease will set back the schedules of the anime release.

About Coronavirus

COVD-19 coronavirus was first reported to have occurred in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The disease then started spreading throughout the globe despite the best efforts from government authorities to stop it in its tracks.

The World Health Organization declared an emergency on January 30 January. As of Wednesday, the WHO reported that there are 81,109 infected individuals worldwide, with 78,191 of them in China and 164 official cases in Japan proper.

Two thousand seven hundred eighteen individuals have died from the disease in China. The WHO reported one death due to COVID-19 in Japan proper. However, Hokkaido reported its first death due to COVID-19 on Wednesday.

As of Tuesday, the fourth passenger of the Diamond Princess cruise ship died in a Japanese hospital, although the cause of death has not been reported.
