Miranda was upset and defensive when she opened the package that contained the book about quitting drinking. She even tells Carrie that she just got carried away when Carrie confronts her about having sex with her boss in the kitchen. It’s later revealed that Miranda bought the book herself when she was drunk—as a way of stopping herself from spiraling more.
She tells Carrie how upset she is in her life and marriage, and her experience with Che was the best she’s ever felt. Is Miranda going to continue to cheat on her husband with Che? Or was it a one-time thing? Either way, it could complicate things for Carrie since Che is her boss at the podcast.
Charlotte is still struggling to understand her child’s change in gender expression. It’ll be interesting to see how she takes on this challenge especially considering how she’s always been the more conservative one in the friend group.
Carrie reaches out to Samantha to give her a heads up about having mentioned her on the podcast. Samantha is thrilled to hear that Carrie’s vagina is getting air time. Carrie tells her she misses her and we’re left with the old text bubble bait and switch. Fans are thrilled to see this tiny Samantha appearance (although it was just virtual) and are hoping for more as the series progresses. Will we actually get to see Samantha come back? Seema convinces Carrie to see a doctor for her lower back pain. As it turns out, she had a congenital defect in her hip that she needed surgery for. She gets the surgery and Charlotte and Miranda take turns taking care of Carrie, as she still needs help moving around.
Charlotte and Harry are surprised to hear their child, Rose has started identifying as ‘Rock’ and going by they/them pronouns. They have a meeting with the school as they try to navigate their child’s change in gender expression. While Charlotte is taking care of Carrie, she hosts the podcast episode from home, hopped up on post-surgery painkillers, and ends up mentioning the story of how Samantha fished out her diaphragm from her vagina when it got stuck. After the call, Charlotte tells Carrie that she should probably give Samantha a heads up about it since she mentioned her by her full name.
Miranda is upset that Charlotte sent her a book titled ‘Quit Like a Woman’ in a not-so-subtle attempt of implying she had a drinking problem. When Miranda is on Carrie duty, Che comes over with tequila and the two of them get drunk and end up having sex in the kitchen. Carrie ends up wetting her bed because Miranda wasn’t there to help her to the bathroom and the two have an argument later. Miranda admits she’s really unhappy in her life and breaks down.

And Just Like That… is an upcoming American comedy-drama television series. It serves as a 10-part reboot of Sex and the City and is set to premiere on HBO Max in late 2021.
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon reprise their roles as Carrie, Charlotte and Miranda. Newly joining the series will be Nicole Ari Parker, Sara Ramirez, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman.
