AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU Spotted on Ashes of the Singularity Database

The 12-core AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D is one of the three Zen4 desktop CPUs with built-in 3D V-Cache. These processors feature extra memory die with 64MB of additional cache which provide users with a significant boost. The Ryzen 9 7900X3D was spotted on the Ashes of the Singularity benchmark database.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D was tested with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU in “Crazy_1080p” preset where it scored 8900, 9000 and 9100 points in each test run.

However, AotS is not a reliable benchmark to compare since the database is the sole source of information. Although there are a few existing results for 7900X and 7950X, these are not really organized so it would be better to not consider them.

AotS results might be from one of the reviewers or from one of the board partners so it is possible that there will be several leaks prior to the CPU’s launch.

AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D features 12 cores, 24 threads, and a boost speed of up to 5.6 GHz, similar to the 7900X variants. With 3D V-Cache, the total cache size is now 140MB, whereas the 7900X has 79MB. This additional feature is also reflected in the processor’s price, $599, which is $50 more than 7900X at launch i.e., $549.

Earlier leaks suggested a 30% performance boost over Zen 3 X3D SKUs, but this might be true only for the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Judging by the AotS result, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D falls behind the Intel Core i9-13900K and Core i7-12700K.
