For all those who have grown old waiting for the elusive letter to arrive, here’s a video game that allows you to experience what it is like to be a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Early in your journey, you will meet Zenobia Noke, the girl everyone hates! She has lost all her Gobstones, and you will have to find them to move forward in the game.
However, in a school as huge as Hogwarts, finding six Gobstones is harder than it sounds. Hogwarts Legacy has several side quests like these for the player to explore the nooks and corners of the magical world.
For the Colin Creeveys of the magical world who are just starting their journey, here’s a guide to finding all six Gobstones for the quest Gobs of Gobstones.
1. What are Gobstones?
Gobstones is a popular magical game in the magical world, similar to the Muggle game of marbles. The difference between the two is that Gobstones squirt out a putrid liquid whenever a player loses a point.
The game isn’t considered ‘cool’ at Hogwarts, and the quintessential popular crowd slightly resents the people who play it.
2. Where to find the little devils?
In the quest Gobs for Gobstones, you will talk to Zenobia Noke in the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower, and she will complain about her lost Gobstones.
After that, you will embark on a mission to find all six of them. After seeing them, use Accio to pick them up. Keep an eye on the minimap, as it will highlight the locations of the Gobstones using a purple circle.
If you need more help, activate the charmed compass, which will lead you to each spot.
Gobstones can be particularly tricky to find as they are hidden in locations only accessible by a spell. You can also highlight them using the spell Revelio and cast Accio to pick them up once you locate them.
3. Here are the locations of all the Gobstones:
I. Divination Classroom
The first Gobstone can be found in the Divination classroom Floo Flame location. Enter the classroom through the door on the right of the flame. Keep walking until you turn a corner.
Look toward the direction of the wooden beams, and you will find the Gobstone atop the middle shaft.
II. Transfiguration Courtyard
Head to the Transfiguration courtyard and look at the stone passageway to your right. The Gobstone is at the top of the passage.
III. Divination Tower
Climb up the stairs of the Divination Tower. When they end, look toward the ceiling. You will notice a giant chandelier. The third Gobstone is placed right on top of the chandelier.
IV. Trophy Room Corridor
The next Gobstone can be found outside the Trophy Room, in the Ravenclaw Tower. Look at the top of the column in the west, and you will find the next Gobstone.
V. Trophy Room
The next Gobstone can be found inside the Trophy Room. Walk toward the north, and you will find it on a shelf.
VI. Ravenclaw Tower Corridor
This one is a little tricky to reach. Go to the Ravenclaw Tower using the Charmed Compass if you need help.
Once you get an approximate location of the Gobstone using the purple circle on the minimap, look southeast toward the ceiling. The Gobstone will be waiting for you on one of the columns.
Once you collect all the Gobstones, return them to Zenobia Noke. You can also keep the stones, but they will serve little purpose in the game. You will also earn 180 XP for the quest.
