Episode 9 of Akebi’s Sailor Uniform starts with Akebi getting a haircut from her mom. She will later shop for sports supplies with her friends. On the bus ride, she finds Kojou reading a book.
Akebi respectfully sits down beside Kojou and only calls Kojou’s name when she’s finished reading. They meet up with Erika and Usagihara outside Sennosawa mall and browse shops inside.
As they come out of a bookstore and Kojou takes out her book to give to Erika, she finds that her precious bookmark is missing. Will she find it?

Episode 10 Speculations
Kojou had a cute bookmark and was unwilling to part with it. Just like Akebi didn’t want to give up her sailor uniform. Everyone has something that they’re not willing to abandon at any cost.
I think Akebi and Kojou browsing bookshops together and discussing future goals and aspirations has brought them together. That moment where Kojou was falling, and Akebi caught her midair was so cute. It looked like the start of something romantic.
I hope we get to see Akebi’s sports event soon.

Episode 9 Recap
Akebi’s mom cuts her bangs to give her a fresh look for summer. Later that day she’s supposed to go out with her friends to the mall, to buy sports supplies. Akebi goes out, gets on the bus, and sees Kojou sitting in the backseat.
As she’s about to call her, she notices Kojou is wholly engrossed in the book she’s reading, so she doesn’t disturb. When Kojou finishes reading and looks up, Akebi sees how cute her bookmark looks. Kojou says her mom made it for her.
Together they go off to the Sennosawa mall, where Erika and Usagihara are waiting. They browse around shops doing anything but looking at sports supplies.
Kojou spots the bookstore from afar, and they all go in. Erika finds a book that she’d like to read, and Kojou says she’ll lend her the copy she has.
They get out of the bookstore, and it’s when Kojou is about to give her book to Erika that she finds out her bookmark is missing.
They search everywhere, including the bookstore and food court, but it’s nowhere to be seen. She gives up and exits the mall. She sees a bright red balloon in the distance, and from it hangs her bookmark. Someone must have found it and left it that way.
She takes the balloon, but let’s go by accident. The balloon flies away and the bookmark with it. Fortunately, it gets stuck in a tree, but it’s too high up. Akebi and the others carry her so she can reach.
It does not work out, so Akebi asks her to jump and grab into the bookmark. She does as told and manages to get the bookmark. Akebi catches Kojou, and later they get wet in the rain.
