Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn) Season 2 – Release Date, Where To Watch, Teaser, Visuals & Other Updates

The Manga “Yona of the Dawn (aka Akatsuki no Yona)” was adapted into an anime in 2014 and is written by Mizuho Kusanagi. The manga was originally launched in 2009 and is published in Hana to Yume and is still going strong.

So far only one season of anime has been released and there are serious question marks over the season 2. Let’s take a look at Yona of the Dawn Season 2 release date and whether it will come out or not.

There has been no official announcement regarding the release date of the Season 2 of the anime. Akatsuki no Yona’s last episode was released in 2015 and since then, there has been no word on the new season from official sources.

Some sources suggest that this has been the reason that the Season 2 hasn’t been released/announced yet. However, the content to be animated has already been made and Shinichi Inotsume, the writer of anime wasn’t affected that badly by the earthquake.

4. About Akatsuki no Yona Plot

Yona, the main protagonist of the story is a princess of Kouka Kingdom. Yona is in love with Su-Won whom she has liked from her childhood. However, on her sixteenth birthday, the King refuses to get Su-Won and Yona married.

She then rushes into her father’s chambers to confront him where she finds out that her crush Su-Won has murdered the king and taken control over the kingdom. As she runs for her life and evades the guards of the new king, she gets to know about a priest who knows the true history of the kingdom.

The priest then tells Yona about her grandfather and his four commanders who won over the kingdom in the past. She then heads out to find the descendants of these four commanders along with her bodyguard and a follower of the priest that they came across. Now, Yona wants to win over the Kingdom again and she believes that these four descendants can help her in her cause.
