1. Episode 7 Confirms Ahsoka’s Place in the Star Wars Timeline

This week’s episode begins with Carson Teva supporting Hera in the New Republic court after their mission on Seatos.

He challenges a statement that downplays the threat of the Imperial Remnants and mentions the recent battle on Mandalore against Moff Gideon. This refers to the liberation of Mandalore by Bo-Katan Kryze and Din Djarin in The Mandalorian season 3.

Teva’s statement signifies that some time has passed since the events of The Mandalorian season 3 and that the news of what happened on Mandalore has reached the New Republic. Now, that’s good news for fans as it confirms that Ahsoka takes place after the events of the Mandalorian season 3, as many had speculated.

2. The Most Unexpected Cameo- C3PO!

Another legendary cameo in this week’s episode is that of C3PO. Yes, the golden droid is back to represent Leia Organa!

Anthony Daniels returns to voice the loyal and witty C-3PO, who comes to aid Hera and her rogue mission to Seatos.

From Ahsoka episode 5, we already knew that Leia was covering for Hera and her team. Now, C-3PO confirms that Leia is on their side, which should be a big reason to worry for Chancellor Mon Mothma!

3. Anakin Skywalker Trains Ahsoka. Again!

Anakin Skywalker returns as Ahsoka’s mentor in a series of holovids he made for her. These holovids show how Anakin trained Ahsoka in Tales of the Jedi, especially in how to use her dual lightsabers with crafty precision.

Ahsoka has not shared these holovids with anyone before, not even the know-it-all Huyang. In episode 7, she finally confides them in the droid, confirming that she has healed from her past wounds with Anakin’s help in the mysterious realm of the World Between Worlds in episode 5.

4. Thrawn’s Revelation and Anakin Skywalker

Grand Admiral Thrawn has a rare insight into the secret identity of Darth Vader as Anakin Skywalker, and he is shocked to discover that Anakin had a padawan – Ahsoka.

Thrawn knows how powerful Anakin and Vader are and fears that Ahsoka might have inherited some of their skills. However, he quickly recovers his composure and uses his knowledge of Anakin and Vader to anticipate Ahsoka’s actions. He senses her plan of action and decides to play the second fiddle for the moment and just follow her.

5. Episode 7 Confirms that Sabine is Force-Sensitive!

Sabine has a strange sensation as she flies through the perilous debris ring of Peridea. It is because Ahsoka is trying to contact her through the Force. Sabine responds to the call, just like Luke and Leia did in The Empire Strikes Back. She describes the feeling as ‘familiar’ to Ezra, implying that she has always had a connection to the Force.

This is not the first time Sabine has shown signs of being Force-sensitive in the series, but now something has changed in her, allowing her to sense the Force more clearly.

6. Baylan’s Nefarious Agenda

Baylan Skoll | Source: IMDb

This week’s episode stuns us when Baylan Skoll abandons his protégé Shin Hati to follow his hidden agenda. His true goal remains a mystery, but it throws a wrench in Thrawn’s schemes, as Baylan becomes an unpredictable factor – much like Sabine. Some fans have speculated that Baylan has a covert mission to assassinate the Skywalkers, based on the Aurebesh symbols on his wrist device throughout the series.

However, we know that he has been telling Shin that he is after a power that transcends both the Jedi and the Sith, which he apparently went to seek.

Hopefully, we’ll know all about it in next week’s finale.

7. The Night Troopers Aren’t Undead

Sabine, Ezra, and Ahsoka face off against Thrawn’s Night Troopers in episode 7 and defeat many of them.

Unlike Inquisitor Marrok, a mercenary resurrected by the Nightsister magick, the troopers do not show any sign of being undead. This contradicts a common speculation that Thrawn’s army is made of reanimated corpses, but it may not apply to all his soldiers. Captain Enoch, for example, has not been harmed yet, and several clues suggest he is also a product of Nightsister magick like Marrok.

8. Shin’s Redemption Arc?

Ahsoka sees a spark of hope in Shin, who has been abandoned by her allies and betrayed by her master. She reaches out to Shin, offering her a chance to turn away from the dark side and join her.

Shin rejects Ahsoka’s offer for now and flees, but she can’t ignore that Ahsoka has shown her kindness and compassion. Maybe Shin still has some light in her, and perhaps Ahsoka can help her nurture it. Fans have longed for Shin to redeem herself, unlike Kylo Ren, who never could. Ahsoka’s gesture brings that possibility closer to reality.

9. The Joyful Reunion in the End

The long-awaited reunion of Ahsoka, Ezra, and Sabine finally happens at the end of episode 7.

Sabine is overjoyed to see that her master is alive, and Ahsoka is amazed to meet Ezra again after he rescued her from the World Between Worlds in Star Wars Rebels season 4. It’s a heartwarming moment that fans have anticipated since the Rebels epilogue revealed Ahsoka and Sabine’s mission to find Ezra.

However, the happiness of episode 7 is overshadowed by the looming threat of Thrawn’s scheme. He is aware that time is not on the side of the Jedi trio, and if he manages to escape Peridea before they do, they will be stranded in a foreign galaxy.

The Ahsoka finale promises to be full of action as the danger of Thrawn’s return grows closer. Can the light of these three Jedi together overcome Thrawn’s monstrosity?

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
