Ahsoka Episode 6: The Biggest Reveal for the Star Wars Universe

Ahsoka episode 6 explores a new galaxy in the Star Wars canon, where the former Imperial leader Grand Admiral Thrawn is believed to be exiled. The episode reveals the activities of Thrawn’s dark agents, who are trying to locate and revive him. It also features significant returns and reunions of characters from both the light and dark sides of the Force.

Ahsoka episode 6 continues the quest of Ahsoka Tano to track down Morgan Elsbeth and her allies, who have used a hyperspace ring and an ancient star map to travel to the galaxy where Grand Admiral Thrawn is exiled.

Ahsoka and the Jedi droid Huyang are following them with the assistance of a pod of star whales, while Sabine has already arrived at the planet Peridea, where she hopes to find Ezra Bridger, who disappeared with Thrawn. The episode reveals several important details and events from the new galaxy and the characters’ past and present.

Peridea is the Origin of the Main Star Wars Galaxy

The episode reveals that the planet Peridea, where Ahsoka and Huyang are heading, is the origin of the main Star Wars galaxy. Huyang, who is an ancient Jedi droid and a storyteller, confirms this fact.

He says that he used to tell the Jedi Padawans about the history of the galaxy, and Peridea was one of his oldest stories. He says that Peridea was considered a mythical and legendary world by many. He begins his story of Peridea with the familiar Star Wars opening: “A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…”

Peridea is the Ancient Homeworld of the Dathimiri

Morgan Elsbeth and her allies Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati arrive at Peridea with Sabine Wren as their prisoner. They encounter three Nightsisters, who are fellow witches of Morgan.

Morgan reveals that Peridea is the ancient homeworld of the Dathimiri, who migrated to the main galaxy using purrgil star whales, which they call “The Travelers”. They settled on a planet that became known as Dathomir.

The Nightsisters Still Exist in Peridea

The Nightsisters, who are related to Maul, have been mostly wiped out in the main Star Wars galaxy after the Clone Wars. However, on Peridea, their ancient home world, the Nightsisters still exist and have some influence over the planet.

They are led by three witches called the Great Mothers. They are also isolated from the rest of the galaxy, as the purrgil star whales, which they use to travel, only come to Peridea to die. The planet’s rings are made of their huge bones that orbit the planet.

Elsbeth Finally Finds Admiral Thrawn

Ahsoka episode 6 brings Morgan Elsbeth face to face with Grand Admiral Thrawn, whom she has been serving for a long time. Morgan’s loyalty and efforts to restore Thrawn’s power have finally paid off. With the help of Morgan and the Nightsisters, Thrawn has a way to return to the main Star Wars galaxy.

The Introduction of Thrawn and His Ambitions Explained

The episode introduces Grand Admiral Thrawn and his loyal forces, who have been exiled with him in another galaxy since the end of Star Wars Rebels. Thrawn’s flagship, The Chimaera, is a Star Destroyer that commands his troops, known as the Night Troopers.

The Night Troopers wear damaged and worn armor, showing the effects of their long isolation. Thrawn also has a new second-in-command, Captain Enoch, who wears a golden mask and a modified version of his traditional armor.

The appearance of Thrawn and his forces confirms the speculation of Captain Pellaeon in The Mandalorian season 3. Pellaeon, who is part of the Imperial Shadow Council, believes that Thrawn’s return will lead to the revival of the Imperial Remnant’s military. Therefore, Thrawn’s forces pose a serious threat to the galaxy if they manage to escape from Peridea.

Sabine and Ezra Reunite in Peridea

Sabine Wren, who was captured by Thrawn’s allies, is given a chance to search for Ezra Bridger on Peridea, as Thrawn honors Baylan’s promise to her.

Sabine eventually reunites with her old Jedi friend in a touching scene in episode 6. However, Thrawn’s generosity may be part of a larger plan to abandon them on the alien world while he and his forces escape from it.

Baylan Reveals His True Motives

Baylan, the former Jedi, reveals his motivation to his apprentice in the episode. He says that he wants to end the cycle of violence that has afflicted the main Star Wars galaxy for thousands of years. He is looking for a hidden source of power that may be more dangerous than Grand Admiral Thrawn himself.

He also expresses his nostalgia for the ideal of the Jedi Order, which he thinks was corrupted by the events of the prequel trilogy. He may be seeking a way to create a new order that surpasses the Jedi.

Thrawn and Ahsoka’s Clash Begins

Grand Admiral Thrawn is eager to learn more about his new adversary, Ahsoka Tano, who is on her way to Peridea with a pod of star whales. Ahsoka poses a serious challenge to Thrawn’s plan to return to the main Star Wars galaxy.

Thrawn also has a connection to Ahsoka’s master, Anakin Skywalker, who became Darth Vader. Thrawn may use this knowledge to his advantage when he confronts Ahsoka.

Thrawn intends to unleash his forces and the Nightsisters’ magic against Ahsoka when she arrives to stop him from reclaiming his empire. Ahsoka will need to join forces with Sabine and Ezra as soon as possible. She will face a formidable enemy in the upcoming episodes of Ahsoka.
