Demonstrating the nuances of an office environment with a comedic undertone has been the forte of many sitcoms in the past.
The Office, Parks and Recreation, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine have excelled in this niche.
Abbott Elementary shines out as it does an exceptional job of portraying the life of a teacher in a primary school without being too cheesy or unrealistic.
Before diving into the speculations, let me tell you that episode 9 will not be out next week due to Thanksgiving Holidays. The installment will be airing on November 30 instead.
1. Season 2, Episode 9 Synopsis/Speculation
In tonight’s episode, Janine wants her second-grade toddlers to participate in an egg drop activity designed for eighth grade.
Needless to say, it results in a lot of soiled uniforms and a massacre of several eggs. It’s just one of those episodes that are so stupid that you want to laugh your brains off.
Season 2, episode 9 is titled ‘Sick Day.‘ While there are no leaks or promos for that episode, we can guess a few things from the name.
Who will be sick on ‘Sick Day’? I think it will be Janine. Her sick leave will disrupt the working of the entire school.
We know Abbott Elementary has a shortage of staff. That will force one of the teachers to put in a double shift for the day. Will Ava be the one? Or will it be someone like Barbara?
My best guess is Ava. She will be made the scapegoat while Melissa and Barbara enjoy their time in the lounge.
Will Ava’s double shift disrupt the routine of all the classes? Sure.
Will it result in a disaster forcing Janine to come to school regardless of her illness? We hope so!

In today’s episode, the students of the eighth grade prepare a project in which they design ways to prevent an egg from cracking when dropped.
Meanwhile, Janine is hell-bent on making her second graders participate in the same science experiment. Gregory is the only one talking sense as he asks Janine if second graders are old enough for the study.
As expected, mayhem follows. Eggs are dropped everywhere, and Melissa is upset because they are wasting so many eggs for the project.
Elsewhere, Barbara is shocked at the revealing clothes of one of the student’s parents. In the events that follow, she learns not to judge someone solely based on their appearance.
The events are always messy. But that’s what keeps us hooked to the show every week!

A documentary crew is recording the lives of teachers working in Philadelphia’s Willard R. Abbott Elementary School, a predominantly Black public school.
