It was a mediocre episode with little to no development. Goshiki told Ichirou about a strange ritual that goes on in her world, and because of this, Ichirou has to suffer.

The content of the manga was cut short for some reason. It did reduce the impact of the story and made it quite vague. The story felt rushed, and what could have been a good episode was turned into something average.

Ichirou will find out what triggers the retribution in episode 3 of A Galaxy Next Door, titled “A Feverish Handshake with the Princess.”

If going by the manga, Ichirou and Goshiki will test the various in which Ichirou might get hurt because of Goshiki. The story itself is contradictory, to say the least, and given the way it is getting adapted, I don’t have much hope for it.

However, we can expect some cute moments amidst all the testing. Ichirou will slowly and steadily fall in love with Goshiki and find ways to impress her. Although, he doesn’t need to do much, and Goshiki has already started to like him.

Episode 3 of A Galaxy Next Door will be released on Saturday, April 22, 2023. It is a weekly anime, and new episodes are released every Saturday.

3. Episode 2 Recap

Goshiki tells Ichirou that she is the princess of the Star People and has left her planet to find love. She didn’t want to marry someone of her parent’s choice, and now that Ichirou had touched her stinger, they must fall in love.

Ichirou finds it problematic and advises her to think carefully about it. His editor takes away his manuscript. The next morning, Goshiki leaves for her home. Ichirou falls sick because of overwork.

She messages Ichirou to send her the payment but learns about his illness and reappears. She asks Ichirou to lend her his hand.

She tells him that it is all because of her influence and is the retribution for touching her stinger. None of this is his fault, but it is what it is. She talks to him about his work and knows he doesn’t like it that much.

He corrects her that he loves his work. It is just that he wanted to make shounen manga. She tells him she has always wondered whether she can share feelings with someone without controlling them.

Ichirou gets ready to shake hands with her. After shaking hands, he feels comfy and realizes she has been telling the truth. The next day, Goshiki rents a room in his apartment. 

Later, Goshiki asks Ichirou to go shopping with her. They go shopping together, and she buys much different stuff, from clothes to books. They then eat some pudding in a cafe.

While eating, Ichirou narrates the legend behind the Star people and how they came into existence. The whole incident happened during her grandmother’s childhood.

She moves on to say that she wants to have a genuine approach to their relationship. Ichirou goes washroom, and when he returns, he tells Goshiki to leave as some people gather around her and start talking about manga.

However, Ichirou starts bleeding when he tries to pull her by hand. She apologizes as all of this is her fault. He tells her not to feel bad about everything and focus on enjoying life.

4. About A Galaxy Next Door

A Galaxy Next Door is a manga written by Gido Amagakure. It is receiving an anime adaptation directed by Ryuichi Kimura at studio Asahi Production.

The anime is about a young man struggling to raise his siblings after their father’s death with not little inheritance and a passion for drawing manga.
