Eiko and her quest to find her own voice continue to rattle her mind every wakeful moment. Turns out that all she needed to do was employ some relatively unorthodox methods to come up with a little something for herself.
In this journey, she was joined by the amazing Nanami who seems to be hiding one pretty obvious secret herself. On the other hand, Kabe, facing the same issue, turns to the oldest trick in the book and goes back to his roots to find a new perspective.
New horizons begin presenting themselves to these struggling artists with the Summer Sonia 100K likes project deadline approaching but will they make it in time?
Episode 9 Speculations
The end of the sixth episode sees Eiko break new ground with her singing as she heads over to Steve’s studio to record her new single.
The deadline for the project is merely seven days away now so we will finally get to see Eiko record her new song at a studio for the very first time.
Furthermore, Kabe rediscovers what drives his creativity for rap. It was not the hunger for a win but the drive to have fun while going hard at it. Much like Eiko, he too seems to have geared up for his battle against Sekitoba.
The biggest question mark in this entire play is Nanami who I am certain is the lead singer of Azalea.
Now that all the pieces are set up, we might finally see it all being set in motion, it could be a hole in one or maybe it’ll all just start falling apart. Whatever be the case I’m certain that Kongming has an answer for it all.

Episode 8 Recap
The episode starts off with Eiko making her way toward Nanami on the streets of Shibuya. The two were set to perform that evening as well and Nanami had a surprise for Eiko.
Nanami pulls out her Bass with Eiko looking at her in awe as she jams out a quick line to impress her. The two then begin to sing the one song that the series has absolutely engraved into our skulls and somehow still manages to make it sound refreshing.
The shot cuts to Kongming and Steve playing a bootleg version of Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure as they argue about whether Eiko will find her voice in time. Steve seems to have his reservations but Kongming bets it all on her abilities.
Realizing that she needs more practice, Eiko begins jamming in the lounge but after a few unsuccessful sessions and a broken string, she stops. Kabe joins in on the self-pity train as he requests her to sing and begins freestyling along only for both of them to realize that there’s something missing.
Kabe decides to go back to where he began rapping and Eiko goes back to Shibuya and Nanami to perform again.
Nanami takes Eiko to one of her favorite places, a spacious public bath where the two girls start singing the same song again only this time with more reverb. The bath soon becomes a small concert hall with the listeners cheering after the performance.
Kabe on the other hand finds his schoolmate Sasatcho freestyling under the same bridge where they had first fallen in love with rap. The two have a rap battle after which they begin discussing Kabe’s problems.
Sasatcho brings it to Kabe’s attention that he shouldn’t be doing this for winning as it was never his goal, it was always having more fun and that’s what he should do.
The sun had set and the evening was lively, Eiko, feeling refreshed after that bath decided to thank Nanami by taking her for dinner.
They talk for quite a while over “Monja” and after listening to Eiko’s worries Nanami agrees to coach her. Over a span of seven days, Eiko improves so much that she is able to take that song and transform it into her own with her own arrangements.
With her newfound confidence, she heads off to Steve’s studio for the recording while Nanami “mysteriously” disappears after we see an Azalea music truck cross the road in front of her.
Kongming is easily aware of all of this but I am unsure of exactly how all of this fits into the bigger picture he is painting. That is something only he can explain.
