2. Recap of Episode 15 of Witch Watch
Episode 16 of Witch Watch started with Nico’s mother’s new prophecy, which revealed that something with anti-warlock powers existed in Mount Kanhachiya. Since the kids were having their summer break, they decided to go all the way there, and they took Nemu along with them since she was a witch too. Upon reaching, they encountered a middle school boy named Kiryuu Mahiru. The boy spoke very formally, but he was extremely rude to a stranger.
Mahiru and his father took them to their home, from where they learned that the Kiryuu family had powers that could repel evil. Later, when the group went to the river to have fun, they were attacked by a Warlock who could control water. He used his powers to capture Nico, but he was stopped by Mahiru, who turned out to be incredibly powerful for someone who looked puny.
The battle ended with the Warlock stabbing Mahiru when he let his guard down. Things weren’t as serious as we thought, though, because Mahiru could heal himself by sucking energy from others. This was when it was revealed that the Kiryuu family consisted of vampire familiars, and after years of blending within humans, the vampires don’t drink blood anymore, but they suck energy out of people.
Just like how every other male character introduced in this anime, Mahiru too found himself recruited to Morihito’s house as Nico’s bodyguard. Here’s what happened: Mahiru felt incredibly guilty about how he sucked all of his father’s life force, so Morihito suggested that Mahiru should join a high school in their town, so he could live with them, and since Morihito’s house houses 3 familiars brimming with lifeforce, he would never have to worry about drawing too much.
3. Speculation of Episode 16 of Witch Watch
Since Mahiru is the new addition to Morihito’s house, the upcoming episode will likely feature him fitting into his new home. Besides this, if you’d recall, Wolf and Nemu made a pact that Nemu would visit Wolf once every month to show him a crescent shape. She has to do this for Wolf to keep her secret.
In the upcoming episode, Nemu will visit Morihito’s place to fulfill her end of the promise. On the way, she may also stop by to get a few headpats, but we’ll have to wait for the episode to confirm this. Regardless, episode 16 will be way more chaotic than the current episode.
