In a conversation during the AMC’s panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, Gimple mentioned that he has “laid breadcrumbs” for potential crossovers between all the Walking Dead spinoffs. Here’s the quote:

So when it comes to something like [a crossover event between the new spinoffs], yeah, I do have dreams of merging this all together, and I have laid little breadcrumbs toward that, but you never know exactly when and how because of a variety of reasons… I will just say, I’m building those pathways, but there could be all sorts of pivots along the way.

In 2023, two spinoffs, Daryl Dixon and Dead City, set after the flagship series finale, were released. Dead City is about the frenemy duo Maggie and Negan as they go on a mission into a zombie-infested NYC.

Daryl Dixon focuses on the titular character and his adventure in France, also set after the The Walking Dead finale. Both shows have been renewed for season 2. The upcoming Walking Dead spinoff, The Ones Who Live, focuses on Rick Grimes and Michonne years after their departure from the original series.

Rick Grimes’ return to the franchise is one of the most awaited events for fans. He was supposed to come back through a film trilogy at one point, but the makers changed their plans. Viewers are excited to see him reunite with Daryl, as the latter’s last Walking Dead storyline saw him searching for Rick. Daryl and Rick’s dynamic could be the basis for another crossover spinoff.

All the Walking Dead spinoffs had something unique to offer viewers, such as ruthless villains or shocking walkers. All its characters are supposed to be in various parts of the world. However, Daryl Dixon season 2 or Dead City season 2 could bring some of them together.

Gimple has already expressed his intentions about a potential crossover. Therefore, it is all up to AMC to make it happen sooner or later.
