Will Twisted Metal return for season 2? Here’s What We Know So Far

Twisted Metal, a Peacock exclusive series based on the popular video game franchise, premiered on July 27. Fans are already anticipating Twisted Metal season 2.

The series follows John Doe (Anthony Mackie), an amnesiac milkman who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

He is promised to learn his true identity if he succeeds, but he faces many dangers from marauders who want to kill him. He is assisted by Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), a car thief who helps him survive in the dystopian world.

The show has a massive budget of $82 million, making it a very ambitious project. Sony has invested a lot of effort into the series, so it seems probable that Twisted Metal season 2 will happen unless the first season fails.

As of now, there is no official confirmation about the renewal of Twisted Metal season 2. However, if season 1 is a success, there is a high chance of the series being renewed for another season.

1. Will Twisted Metal have a season 2?

Twisted Metal season 2 has not been confirmed yet, so there is no official release date for it. The renewal depends on the success of season 1.

If the show attracts a large audience and a favorable response, Twisted Metal will likely be renewed for season 2. Fans can expect a fast production once it is renewed. Twisted Metal season 1 began filming in May 2022 after it was approved.

If Twisted Metal season 2 gets a similar approval after season 1, it could be released within a year, which is relatively fast for a series with a high budget.

2. Twisted Metal Season 2 Cast

The Twisted Metal season 2 cast is unknown, and it is difficult to predict who will return from the season 1 cast since many of the characters may die.

However, Mackie’s John Doe is the main protagonist of the series, so he will probably survive in season 1 and reprise his role in season 2. Likewise, Samoa Joe and Will Arnett’s Sweet Tooth could be the main antagonist of the series.

However, in the video game series, Sweet Tooth actually took over from the original main villain, Calypso, so Sweet Tooth could also die in season 1 and be replaced by a new enemy in season 2.

3. Twisted Metal Season 2 Plot

The Twisted Metal season 2 story is uncertain since it has not been renewed yet. It is even more uncertain since some Twisted Metal season 1 story details have been altered from the game and that the series seems to be adapting Twisted Metal Black, the fourth game in the series, instead of beginning with the 1995 original Twisted Metal.

Twisted Metal Black was a total reboot of the video game series, but it was a standalone game, so there is no clear sequel to Twisted Metal season 1 based on the source material. However, as the show’s writers have apparently chosen from each of the games to create the world, they can use the same method for Twisted Metal season 2.

4. About Twisted Metal

The half-hour series is about a driver who takes a job to deliver a package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland while being chased by marauders.
