2. Recap of Episode 13 of The Beginning After The End
The latest episode of the Beginning After The End started with Jasmine taking Arthur to the headquarters of the Xyrus Adventurers’ guild, where the head of the guild, a man with an AA rank named Kaspian Bladeheart, was apparently an acquaintance of Jasmine. Using his connections, Arthur managed to bypass all formalities needed to take the adventurer rank test and directly took the final trial.
The trial for the adventurer rank also featured some other children of Arthur’s age, two of whom managed to earn a B rank, which is an incredible feat at that age. One of the boys named Lucas Wykes, a half-elf, made a grand display of his flame magic in the ring, but couldn’t control the spell with efficiency and ended up getting assigned a B rank.
The other contestant, named Elijah Night, was assigned a B rank without any test, which was likely because of some corruption that took place in the background. Regardless, Elijah’s skill being that of a B rank adventurer was still guaranteed. When it was Arthur’s trial, Kaspian stepped up and declared that he’d be the proctor for Arthur’s exam, possibly because Arthur exuded a malicious aura right before the fight, and the man didn’t want to produce any casualties.
Not much of the fight between Arthur and Kaspian was revealed in the episode. What we did see was that Arthur made a good display of his skills, but he greatly overestimated his own skills, and Kaspian was significantly stronger than him. Ultimately, Arthur, too, was assigned a B rank, just like the boys who preceded him.
One might find this result upsetting; however, Arthur is still just a boy, and his body can’t keep up with the growth in his magic and skills. Regardless, the status of a B-ranked hunter is no ordinary feat. Following this, we also got a bit of a backstory about Jasmine. We learnt that she actually belonged to a very powerful family, but was cast aside due to her inability to use the flame magic, which was the family’s pride and trump card. Arthur found this to be outrageous and the two bonded over the sudden transparency they felt with one another
3. Speculation of Episode 13 of The Beginning After The End
The next episode of The Beginning After The End, set to air in 2026, will take place two years ahead of the current timeline. The post-credit scene of the latest episode has teased Arthur’s appearance (he is still smaller than Jasmine), and it would seem that Arthur has earned quite a name in the town as an adventurer.
The details of his adventure haven’t been revealed yet, but we can expect his adventure to end soon after the next season starts, as Arthur needs to get ready to enroll in Xyrus Academy, as he had promised the director, Cynthia. We also expect to see the two boys, Elijah and Lucas, in the upcoming season, as the two seemed to have been introduced as important characters.
