An extended trailer for Superman & Lois season 3 has just been released, and we have gotten our first look of the new Jonathan Kent, played by Michael Bishop.
Superman and Lois will return to small screens in less than a month after an extended hiatus. The Kent-Lane family drama will premiere on CW every Tuesday at 8 PM, followed by the Gotham Knights series premiere.
One of the biggest changes in Superman & Lois is the recasting of Jonathan Kent, who will be played by Michael Bishop. He will replace Jordan Elsass, who exited the drama series after two seasons.
Set to premiere in less than a month, the teaser promises the most exciting season yet. In the teaser, Clarke upgrades his fortress to be available to the whole family, including Jonathan.
The teaser makes it clear that Clark Kent and Lois Lane are in for epic adventures and several mommy issues in the family. Early in the trailer, we get a glimpse of Clark’s Kryptonian mom Lara in all her holographic glory, and the entire family enters the newly formed Fortress of Solitude.
The scene switches to the twins’ birthday celebrations, and Lois confides in Clark that she is pregnant with the third child.
We don’t see Clark’s reaction as the scene swiftly switches to high gear. This sequence is followed by the big reveal that will likely form the crux of season 3.
We see Lois getting abducted by an infamous gang, and the screen gets filled with fighter jets, explosions, and whatnot. Meanwhile, the teaser prepares us for Kyle (Eric Valdez) and Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) who will end it for good as we see them discussing a divorce.
The Kent boys go through a crisis as Jordan discovers who he is and the consequences of being a superhero. Meanwhile, John Henry is haunted by his doppelganger, the lives of him and Natalie seem to be in a severe crisis.
The viewers can look forward to getting answers to all their questions when season 3 premieres on March 14.
The bigger mystery is whether The CW will renew Superman & Lois for a fourth season. Although DC Studios CEO James Gunn has said that he expects the series to go on for one or two more seasons, The CW has yet to give any official confirmation.
The show’s future will depend on how the upcoming season performs, and the latest teaser makes us very hopeful about its success among both audience and critics.
