Stalker 2 is what everyone has been raving about lately. What a perfect Thanksgiving present! Surprisingly, players have not just finished the dystopian game once but are already on their second or third play.

Whether someone is playing for the first time or the hundredth time (figuratively), there is something everyone can agree upon-Stalker is hella buggy!

Stalker 2 was also launched on Xbox Series X/S. Several players reported that Stalker 2 was stuttering, lagging and crashing out of nowhere. Plus, this is not just a once in a while thing. There has been an alarming number of complaints.

Here are some solutions you can try out!

The reason behind this stuttering and crashing issue is not exact. There could be a number of factors causing the game to lag or crash. While we wait for developers to put out an actual fix, try these instead:

1. Restart Everything

Playing for long hours can heat up your console’s internal temperature. Save the game and turn off your Xbox for a while.

Your console needs air to breathe. That’s right, placing your Xbox in a cramped space can lead to CPU and GPU overheating issues. While you are at it, clean up your console to get rid of any dust.

2. Check Internet Connection

Stalker 2 needs a good and stable internet connection to function properly. Check for loose or damaged cables. Reinsert your HDMI cables to ensure a smooth input. Don’t forget to check your internet connection as well.

3. Update your Xbox

Always make sure your Xbox is updated to ensure a smooth gameplay experience. Automatic Updates are enabled by default so you should be using the latest version.

If else here’s how you can update it manually:

  • Go to Settings
  • Select System
  • Click on Updates
  • If there are any available updates, install them ASAP

4. Check Game Files

Corrupt or damaged game files might be the cause of all your problems. Clean out your console’s storage to ensure that Stalker 2 has the resources it needs.

Follow these steps to delete unwanted game files on your Xbox:

  • Go to Settings on your Xbox.
  • Select System followed by Console Info.
  • Select “Reset Console” from here.
  • Select “Reset and keep my games and apps.”
  • After this, try relaunching Stalker 2.

These solutions are like a shot in the dark. Just because they worked for someone else does not mean that it would be the same for you. With that being said, it doesn’t hurt to try!
