2. Recap of Chapter 215 of Sakamoto Days
Shin decided to face X for a moment just to assess his odds of victory against the man, and almost immediately realised that he still had no chance of surviving a strike even while using his abilities to read the man’s mind. He decided to retreat but fell into a seal tank while trying to escape, which X shattered promptly after Shin dipped into it. X then got riled up by some of the kids in the vicinity, but Shin got X’s attention back by releasing a bit of bloodlust, which was probably a fatal mistake.
Just a fraction of a second later, X cut down a man from JAA behind Shin who was trying to kill Shin, which had many JAA members in the vicinity, confused as they were only trying to help X, but X (Takamura) was hardly in a state to be processing the situation. X then used his blade as a bat to hit the freshly severed man’s head onto his allies and killed a few more people.
Anyone watching this battle could easily deduce that the man was probably even stronger than Sakamoto or Nagumo, so Shin decided to keep running until he got backup, and left the people from JAA to distract X. While running, Shin saw the arch aquarium around it slowly accumulate dead and dismembered people from JAA. As the water in the aquarium progressively turned redder, Shin watched in horror as X struck the ceiling of the aquarium and freed himself.
At this moment, Shin knew there was no way out of facing X. He’d have to use his powers to freeze X’s brain even for a moment, and delay getting attacked until at least Sakamoto or some other backup came. Even a moment of confusion would cost him his life, even the slightest of bloodlust would kill him. As he prepared himself to use his powers to freeze the man’s brain, X didn’t waste a second and seized his opportunity to slash at Shin.
3. Speculation for Chapter 216 of Sakamoto Days
The latest chapter of Sakamoto Days ended with Shin getting slashed right at the neck by X. It isn’t certain whether Shin is dead yet, as we’ve seen Shin getting killed several times in his foresight. It could be possible that Shin’s brain freezing ability reached before X’s slash, and the slash we saw in the manga may have been Shin’s foresight.
It could also be possible that we witnessed Shin’s last moments in this chapter. In the upcoming episode, we can expect other members like Sakamoto and the other ex-order members to show up so that X’s threat can be nullified. As to whether Shin died or not, we will have to wait until the next issue to confirm.
