Episode 5 of Rent-A-Girlfriend season 2 is titled ‘Birthday and Girlfriend,’ In the course of their conversation, Mizuhara inquires about Kazuya’s second night with Ruka.
She hates Kazuya getting close to Ruka, as evidenced by her behavior. In the meantime, Kazuya plans to give her a birthday present to resolve all their misunderstandings.
Here are the latest updates.
Episode 6 Speculation
The gift Kazuya gave Chizuru was accompanied by a letter confessing his affection for her. As a surprise, Chizuru liked his present, but Kazuya wasn’t sure about it. Chizuru will thank him for such a sweet gesture and might even confess her affection for him in the upcoming episode.
It is possible that Kazuya’s gift might hurt Ruka’s feelings. I can’t wait for the upcoming episode to be released, as I know it’s going to be super intense.

Episode 5 Recap
Kazuya wakes up in a messy room after the night out with Ruka. He knows he must clean up his room. He is shocked to see Chizuru doing the same thing when he opens the gate to his apartment to take out the trash.
Chizuru wonders why Kazuya seems so confused as they exchange greetings. Trying not to let his emotions get the better, Kazuya walks in front of her. Though he hoped Ruka would not find out about the night she spent at his apartment, their brief encounter did not turn out as he had intended.
Kazuya follows Chizuru and throws his trash after her. Chizuru slowly walks away, but Kazuya follows her. Chizuru suddenly turns around and asks if Ruka had spent the previous night in his apartment.
As a result of Chizuru’s sudden inquiry, he is left stunned and can’t even assemble a coherent sentence to answer her question. As Chizuru notes his hesitation, she asks him not to use lies to justify anything.
She comments, frustrated, before she walks away, that men are like that, so she is not surprised. Kazuya attempts to track her down to tell her the truth. As soon as she reaches her apartment, Chizuru slams the door as she doesn’t listen to a word he has to say.
It is Kazuya’s hope that Chizuru will be able to hear that he likes her and that he wasn’t intimate with Ruka that night. In appreciation of Chizuru’s support, Kazuya decides to give her a gift in order to clarify the situation. As Chizuru’s birthday is just a few days away, he decides to clarify everything.
He has never purchased a gift for a girl before, so he has no idea what to buy her. To get some advice, he rents Sumi for a day. The two take pictures together and then go shopping.
Kazuya shocks Sumi by asking her what kind of present he should give Chizuru, even though she appears happy. When Sumi finds out that he wants to talk about another girl on their date, she feels sad.
Nevertheless, she decides to help him as much as she can. Kazuya goes with her to a kids’ show where a superhero fights a group of villains. Even though he doesn’t realize it immediately, the girl in the pink costume is Chizuru.
Besides her job as a rental girlfriend and attending acting school, Kazuya is impressed that she still manages to do other gigs to support her dreams.
The fact that Sumi speaks so little leads Kazuya to assume that she wants him to use the kids’ show as a clue to find a perfect gift for Chizuru. Kazuya is impressed with her dedication to achieving her acting dream.
So he believes that any present that considers that factor will be perfect for her. After Sumi gathers all her courage, she explains that gifts are not only about monetary value but also an emotional connection. Kazuya thanks Sumi for all the help he has received from her before he heads home.
After returning to her apartment that evening, Chizuru calls her grandmother for a few minutes. Chizuru wants to relax after a long day. She takes a bath and goes to her balcony to get some fresh air.
There is no doubt that it is from Kazuya, as she is surprised to find a gift there. She finds a note inside the box when she goes to her room. On that note, Kazuya expresses his gratitude to her for all the help he has received from her.
He even mentions that nothing happened between her and Ruka the previous night.
Unwrapping the gift further, she finds Japanese salted plums inside. Like Chizuru, people who work too much probably benefit because they help them relax.
Chizuru appears to be satisfied with the gift, but Kazuya panics over her possible reaction in the neighboring apartment.
