Episode 5, titled ‘Burial,’ ends with the ultimate adrenaline rush as Reacher and his team are targeted by a sniper at Franz’s funeral. Fortunately, all the team members are able to seek cover behind the tombstones. Neagley shoots one assailant in his head while Reacher is able to nab the other and put him inside his car.

Meanwhile, Reacher accuses Russo of exploiting his deceased friend’s family before the calamity. However, he quickly discovers that Russo is innocent and that he lost his father when he was very young. 

Reacher also eliminates the chances of Russo being a traitor since he exposed the connection between all five suspects and New Age security in the third district.

Meanwhile, the shooter reveals that Swan has hired him, not Langley! Reacher persuades him to lead them to a secret building in Queens where a supposed meeting is to take place between the shooter and Swan. Disaster strikes as they reach the site, and a monstrous explosion sets off, killing Swan instantly!
