Episode 1 Recap
Liscia’s parents, the erstwhile king and queen, are seen having their supper on the moonlit balcony. The king is sure that crowning Kazuya as king was the right decision.
In the next scene, we see Kazuya being hit by Aisha, who apologizes profusely. He pouts, saying he’s no match for her, and remarks how uncool it is to be protected from enemies by a woman.
Liscia tells him that no one has been able to use magic outside of their attribute, so that would be impossible for Kazuya. The only dark mages she’s ever known are him, Tomoe, and her mother.
Hakuya shows them his plan to rebuild Van, Kazuya dismisses it because the plan puts too much emphasis on efficiency. He asks him to consult the people on how they would like to rebuild their city to avoid backlash.
Jeanne Euphoria and Prince Julius arrive to negotiate the return of the lands of Van. He cites the Mankind Declaration even though he attacked the Kingdom Elfreiden first. Amidonia is responsible for inciting civil unrest in many foreign territories.
Kazuya says that since the empire wants the return of territories, he will not negotiate with Julius.
