Believe it or not, but PlayStation and, in turn, Sony is responsible for almost half of all the impressions during the month leading up to the company’s latest console release.
Last month may have arguably been one of the craziest ones in the gaming industry till now.
From the price reveal of the next generation’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series Consoles to the amount of advertising and information reveals that came at a blistering speed after the two companies stopped stalling, it was undoubtedly a pretty hectic month for many of us.
Not to mention, it wasn’t just Microsoft and Sony that were doing all the marketing, advertising, and information reveals. Nintendo also made its presence known by reminding how great an option the Switch is as well, especially if you haven’t been able to get any of the latest consoles yet.
But, putting everything aside, if you ask which company seems to have worked the hardest in promoting their consoles, the award most certainly goes to PlayStation, and it’s not even a close competition in this case.
Let me explain. According to the data gathered over at iSpot.tv, almost 47% of all the ad impressions that were generated in the past month, that is, between October 16th, 2020 till November 15th, 2020, were through Sony’s hard work.
The PlayStation 5’s launch commercial, “Play Has No Limits”, has been Sony’s top performer during this period, having been aired 892 times and generating 701 million impressions.
Check it out if you haven’t already:
These are genuinely great numbers with how much work Sony has put into the commercials for PlayStation, and it’s clearly visible through the “out of stock” banners being put up everywhere for the PlayStation 5 only days after its launch.
Regardless, seeing as how Sony hopes to have sold at least 7.6 million units of the PlayStation 5 by the end of March 2021, it’ll be interesting to see whether they can accomplish this goal or not.
