New Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg discovered in main menu screen

Summary:

  • A new Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg has been discovered in the game’s main menu.
  • In the top right corner, the number stating the current game version will occasionally flicker to “2.0.77”.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 director confirmed that patch updates will be released soon but nothing as big as Phantom Liberty.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty turned out to be a good decision. The expansion was well-received by fans all over the world. Once again, the detail with which the game has been created comes to attention as players discover a new surprise every other day.

X user @crushovitz_b revealed a Cyberpunk 2077 Easter egg located on the main menu section. In the top right corner, you can occasionally spot the number 2.0.77 which is a reference to the game title.

Producer Monika Janowska at CD Projekt Red commented “Finally! Super happy it was found!” Another staff member at CDPR, associate game director Pawel Sasko, remarked “I started to doubt you chooms will ever find it! Was hidden way too well.”

Although it was not revealed when this Easter egg was added into Cyberpunk 2077, it could be possible that it was a part of the base game. The current game version is Patch 2.12 but it looks like the Easter egg will be a part of Cyberpunk 2077 moving forward.

The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is in development but it could be years before its release. Meanwhile, as confirmed by the game’s director, smaller patch updates will be launched shortly. However, it would be wise not to expect another DLC anytime soon.

About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
