Episode 996 titled, “Onigashima in Tumult! Luffy’s All-Out War Begins!” is the latest installment in the One Piece anime.
The Akazaya Nine launched a surprise attack on Kaido, revealing that all the previous wars were just a decoy. Yamato confronts Ulti about her being a Straw Hat ally. Ulti was devastated and exchanged some heavy blows with Yamato.
After a face-off with Big Mom, Luffy finally declares all-out war. How will they defeat Kaido and Big Mom? Will Shinobu rescue Momonosuke? We’ll find out in the next episode.
Episode 997 Speculation
In the last episode of One Piece, Luffy declares all-out war. After an emotional speech by Punk Hazard, the Straw Hats and their allies are ready to give their all in their battle with Kaido.
Shinobu’s sneaky mission of rescuing Momo will probably also succeed as the little boy will finally be set free from all the chains.
The Straw Hats’ current strength is a few hundred, but support flies in as the samurai that should have been arrested in the flower capital, i.e., the prisoners of Udon, arrive at the castle.
The former Shichibukai Trafalgar Law also join forces. We also might see some other allies that would help the Straw Hats.
Episode 997 Release Date
Episode 997 of the One Piece anime has been released on Saturday, Oct 30, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

Episode 996 Recap
The episode begins with the Akazaya Nine attacking Kaido using Oden’s Ryuo. Ulti questions Yamato about her betraying them and siding with the Straw Hats. Yamato tells her that she believes that she will become Kozuki Oden, and that day has come.
Kaido’s men report to her about her father’s injuries, but she reminds them that she was with the straw hats. She tells them that she is no longer their ally and won’t care even if her father dies.
The men then launch towards Luffy, and he counters them using Gun-Gum Whip. Big Mom sees Luffy attack Kaido’s men using Elephant Gum. Big Mom finally confronts him, and Luffy can’t believe he must face Big Mom when he is so busy.
The fight continues between Ulti and Yamato. The two continue arguing about Yamato’s betrayal. Yamato, however, wants Ulti to get out of her way since her motive was to take down Kaido and become Kozuki Oden.
Meanwhile, Robin and Jinbei spot Shinobu sneakily make her way to rescue Momonosuke. Nami and Carrot manage to free themselves using Nami’s Black Ball and Storm Cloud and Carrot’s Eleclaw. They annihilate Big Mom’s underlings using Ectoplasm Thunder.
Big Mom and Luffy continue their fight. Luffy uses his Elephant Gun, but Big Mom’s punch pushes him back. She tells him that since Luffy deceived her pirates, she came from Totto Land to kill him.
Oden’s men are still attacking Kaido, but he pushes all of them away. Kaido tells them how the Straw Hat pirates they’ve joined hands with will abandon the Akazaya and run away when they see them lose.
He informs them that he has already taken them down once. However, the samurai defended Luffy, stating that he was nothing like them. They say that he is a man who will emerge victoriously and stand at the top of the sea someday.
Big Mom asks Luffy why he was there in the first place. She tells him that it would be laughable if he were there to defeat Kaido. Luffy says that isn’t his intention which surprises everyone.
He then proclaims that he was there to defeat Big Mom, Kaido, Orochi, and their subordinates. It is going to be an all-out war.
