Superman and Lois has released a new poster just in time to get us geared up about Season 2. The image teases that despite living in Smallville, the town folks’ secrets are anything but small.
The poster has the Super family in the forefront with the Superman crest in vibrant colors. But behind them, Smallville lurks in gloomy hues of blue and grey. The sky is spiked with lightning bolts, and a couple of helicopters are pictured flying to the right.
The poster’s caption reads, “Small town. Big secrets,” inviting us to ponder upon how the show will surprise us in Season 2.
But we’re not entirely clueless — For starters, we know that Clark and Lois are having problems in their domestic life.
The two have differences over what is the right way of teaching Jordan to harness his newfound powers. The trailer has already revealed that Lois is not happy with Clark taking Jordan on a mission, which unwittingly causes him to neglect Jonathan.
Lois will also have to deal with another family problem. In season 1, we find out that John Henry Iron’s late wife is a Lois from another Earth. Now that John’s daughter Natalie has arrived at Smallville, she will turn to Lois for answers.
Besides this, there are other “secrets” to explore. While we know newcomer Lt Mitch Anderson wants to have Superman on a leash, we are yet to find his true intentions and missions.
The poster’s caption can also be a play on Clark’s secret identity as Superman. Indeed, this very lineage may prove to be dangerous as season 2, episode 1, will explore how Jonathan and Jordan’s secret identities affect them in school.
We’ve been fed quite a few teasers about what’s to come. Still, I feel like the show may have a few more surprises in store for us!
Superman and Lois Season 2 will premiere with “What Lies Beneath” on January 11.
