Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Episode 2: Release Date, Speculation, And Watch Online

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid season 2 episode 1, titled “New Dragon, Illulu!” aired this week.

Last season ended with Tohru almost battling her father, who did not want her to associate herself with a human.

However, Tohru saw that Kobayashi stood up for her against her father even though she was powerless against him, which led to her father allowing her to follow her ambitions.

In episode 1, Tohru decided to work at a new maid cafe where she got famous as a chef instead of a maid. After that, a new dragon, Illulu, launched an attack against Tohru and her city because she looks down on her coexisting with humans.

1. Episode 2 Speculations and Discussions

Episode 2 is titled “Hot Guy Kobayashi! (In Many Ways)”

As we saw in the previous episode, Illulu is adamant about making her point clear to everyone that Humans and Dragons cannot coexist. 

It is very evident that to make things complicated, Illulu will turn Kobayashi into a man. Now that Kobayashi is a man, the sexual tension between Tohru and him will increase exponentially. 

Illulu’s tactic may complicate things between Tohru and Kobayashi for a while. However, since their bond is so strong, we will see them work through it and manage to coexist again. 

I just hope that after accepting defeat, Illulu turns Kobayashi back into a woman, or else this show will turn into another generic ecchi/harem.

Episode 2 of the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid anime, titled “Hot Guy Kobayashi!”, has been released on Thursday, Jul 15, 2021.

3. Recap of Episode 1

Episode 1, titled “New Dragon, Illulu!” starts off with Tohru feeling very unproductive and bored at home when Kobayashi goes to work.

Tohru finds out about another Maid Café that has opened close by and chooses to work there during her leisure time. 

Kobayashi and Kanna drop by later at the cafe to look out for her just to find that she has become their cook. 

Tohru utilizes Dark Magic to enhance the food items served there, making the cafe a considerable success. However, she chooses to stop working at the cafe due to selfish reasons. 

However, before leaving, she helps different maids and teaches them to execute dark magic too. Once she left she expected to receive good reviews on her maid services, but everyone is complimenting her cooking. 

A couple of days later, Tohru and Kobayashi are assaulted by Ilulu, a violent extremist from the Chaos Faction who scrutinizes Tohru for coexisting with humans. 

Tohru is unable to use her powers to their maximum potential as she cannot let the city be decimated. However, to aid her, Kobayashi bribes Elma with sweets and asks her to lend Tohru a hand, which results in Tohru easily defeating Ilulu. 

Ilulu later happens to cross paths with Kobayashi. She is under the impression that Kobayashi is sexually attracted to Tohru, which is why she coexists with her. 

Illulu then tries to seduce Kobayashi but is immediately rejected. Even then, Illulu is under the misconception that her charms did not work because Kobayashi is a woman.

This leads to the episode ending with Illulu changing Kobayashi into a male to see how things will turn out in the future.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is a Slice of life, fantasy, comedy manga written and illustrated by Cool-Kyou Shinja. The manga began serialization in Monthly Action magazine from May 25, 2013.

It revolves around Kobayashi, a stoic programmer. While on her way to work, Kobayashi gets frightened after seeing the head of a dragon. Staring at her, the dragon immediately transforms into a young girl dressed in a maid outfit.

Introducing herself as Tooru, she reminds Kobayashi of her offer to stay in her home while she was drunk the previous night. Regretting her decision, she agrees to Tooru’s request to work as a personal maidservant to repay the debt for a shelter.
