Episode 5 Recap
Chisato informs her coworkers of their new assignment, which entails touring Japan with a terminally ill, wheelchair-bound businessman named Matsushita a month after Majima’s terrorist strike.
They were told that someone had murdered Matsushita’s wife and children. His own life is in danger while being in Japan.
They subsequently take him on a tour of Tokyo, during which Chisato confirms to Takina that she has an artificial heart. She was a student at Alan Institute and was given a second chance at life for a mission.
In the meantime, two detectives discover evidence of a terrorist attack in the subway tunnels. Kurumi tracks down an assassin, Jin, whom Mika remembers working with 15 years ago.
Takina tries to intercept Jin as Matsushita separates from Chisato. Matsushita admits that Jin murdered his family and that their true aim was to murder him in retaliation.
Chisato immobilizes Jin after he injures Takina, but Matsushita enters and orders her to kill him. Matsushita’s devices unexpectedly cease working after she refuses, killing him.
Mika says in the feedback that “Matsushita” was simply the body of an old drug addict utilized as a puppet by the robots in his wheelchair. The person manipulating him is revealed to be a member of the Alan Institute, who decides to alter their intentions.
That night, Majima and his men ambush and kill a Lycoris, with him proclaiming that she will be the first of many.
