Linking PlayStation and Steam Account for Helldivers 2 – Complete Guide

The developers of Helldivers 2 have recently announced that all the players need to link their Steam account with a PlayStation account from 6th May 2024, onwards to keep playing the game.

This announcement has taken many by surprise, and the game developers and publishers are getting severe backlash from the Helldivers community for making this unnecessary and cumbersome process a mandate to play the game.

1. How to link your PlayStation & Steam account for Helldivers 2?

To link your PlayStation and Steam accounts for Helldivers 2:

1. Open Steam.
2. Launch Helldivers 2.
3. The game screen will display a QR code and a link to a log-in page for Sony’s PlayStation Network;
4. Scan the QR code or Click on the Link; and
5. Enter your PlayStation log-in credentials to link the accounts.

Note – This process will only work starting from 6 May, 2024, and onwards.

The existing players of Helldivers 2 can complete this process until 30th May. However, starting May 6th, all the new players will have to first link their accounts before jumping into the game.

Additionally, if you currently do not have a PlayStation account then you have to create one by vising the PlayStation website.

2. How to make a PlayStation account on PC?

To create a PlayStation account on PC:

1. Go to the PlayStation website.
2. Select the Sign-in option on the top right corner.
3. Click on Create an Account button in the new pop-up window.
4. Again, click on Create on the newly opened window.
5. Choose your Country and Language, then click next.
6. Enter your Birthdate, and Click next.
7. Enter an e-mail ID and desired password to create an account.
8. Fill in your residential details, and click next.
9. Choose an online tag and fill-in your full name.
10. Finish the process by giving additionally asked details.

Congratulation! After completing this long process, you, now, have a PlayStation account. You can use the credentials that you used to sign-in (Step 7) to later log-into Helldivers 2 after scanning the QR or clicking at the link on the game screen.

Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is the sequel to 2015’s Helldivers, which was a top-down shooter. It was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows on 8 February 2024.
