Chapter 172, titled “Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 12,” showed the outcome of Fushiguro and Reggie’s fight. An explanation of how Fushiguro withstood the weight in the domain was given.
Reggie thought of a counter-plan to win the fight by sinking into the domain. He got stuck in the void of the domain but used a trump card to escape the void.
Reggie used his Cursed Technique to take Fushiguro out. Fushiguro managed to evade the attack. In the end, Fushiguro took out Reggie in physical combat with Divine Dog.

1. Chapter 173 Raw Scans and Leaks
The chapter starts with Reggie saying that he didn’t expect to get defeated by a modern-day sorcerer like Megumi. He transfers all his points to Megumi and wishes that Megumi dies like a clown.
In the next panel, Hazenoki is informed of Reggie’s death and he leaves saying everything is bullshit. Takaba, a new character is introduced who can manifest funny situations into reality. The Black Divine Dog chases Remi but is later saved by the illusion of Tsumiki’s sister. Megumi cancels the summoning after a few scoldings.
An Indian guy that looks like a bearded monk can be seen and is named Dhruv Lakdawla.A new player named Uro Takao is also introduced, and she can control the sky using Hana Kurusu’s technique which also appears in this chapter. Ichigoori Ryu is another character who can shoot cursed energy like a canon.
Another character called Kurorushi appears that looks like a cockroach. Yuta Okkotsu appears with the special grade he regained in just three months, and he kills the Indian guy.
2. Chapter 173 Discussion
The events in the Culling games are progressing, and we’re getting closer to seeing its true purpose. The fight with Reggie is finally over, and I hope we get to see more of the Culling Games.
Fushiguro played his cards well in the fight with Reggie. Will Fushiguro meet Itadori once he’s done with Reggie? Will we get to see another colony in the Culling Games?
The next chapter will explore more on the events happening in the Culling Games. I hope we see what the sorcerers are up to. It will be nice to see what Panda and Hakari are facing on their side.

4. Recap of Chapter 172
This chapter starts with Akutami explaining how Fushiguro withstands the weight of the three cars that Reggie sank into his shadows.
Reggie faces the same condition with Max Elephant, given Fushiguro’s domain enhancing his Cursed Technique.
Reggie’s right leg is badly injured in the process, and it seems like Fushiguro has the upper hand. Reggie considers jumping into Fushiguro’s shadow to escape but realizes that he doesn’t know much about the inside of the shadow.
Considering Fushiguro might trap him inside and drown him, he decides to use what calls his “trump card.” Reggie uses the Cursed Technique and escapes to find his assumptions were right on no oxygen being present inside the shadows.
Reggie then uses one of the cars to help him float back to the surface. He admits that Fushiguro is a powerful sorcerer but declares himself stronger as he unleashes his next move.
Reggie summons an entire wooden house using Contract Object Reproduction.
He intends to crush Fushiguro completely by sinking the house into his domain. Unfortunately, his plan backfires when he finds himself sinking again, this time in actual water. Fushiguro escapes into his shadow and disables his domain.
This causes the house to break through the floor into the indoor pool below. Fushiguro points out that Reggie can no longer use his receipts. Reggie replies Fushiguro has also used up most of his Cursed Energy with Domain Expansion.
They then get into hand-to-hand combat. Reggie plans to deceive Fushiguro by pretending to know he can’t summon his Shikigami anymore. Reggie looks for the perfect opportunity to strike Fushiguro down.
He believes Fushiguro has no strong offensive move with only his injured Divine Dog.
Thinking he can win, Reggie gets attacked by Divine Dog. Realizing Fushiguro’s Divine Dog is still strong after the previous attack, Reggie says a sorcerer is nothing but a con artist.
