Isabela Merced Is Already Looking Forward To Sweet Girl Sequel

Sweet Girl, an action thriller starring Jason Momoa and Isabela Merced, is now streaming on Netflix.

The movie premiered on Netflix on August 20, and now, less than a week after its release, Merced is already hoping for a sequel.

In an interview with ComingSoon, Merced and Momoa both had high praises for the stunt team, 87eleven. Merced spoke about her ‘fun’ experience while filming,

[I’m playing] empowered characters only. It was so much fun because they got to do a lot of the action scenes and I’ve always loved action movies.

This stunt team, in particular, they’re called 87eleven, and they worked on some of my favorite action movies of all times. So I really felt like, ‘Oh my God, I’m Charlize. Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde.’ Like this is actually happening. It was amazing. I can’t wait.

The actress mentioned the possibilities of the film getting a sequel,

Like maybe there’s going to be a sequel, hopefully, there’s time for more action. But like I really hope it’s soon and with the same stunt team, because they were just absolutely amazing and made everything so much fun. I haven’t had so much fun doing my own stunts ever.

Sweet Girl was a different experience for Merced than what she’s normally used to. Twenty-year-old Merced already has many films under her belt, including Instant Family, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, and Let It Snow, among others.

Directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, Sweet Girl follows Ray Cooper and his daughter Rachel as they seek vengeance for the death of Ray’s wife.
