Hulu’s Thriller Series The Old Man: Premiere Date and Other Details

Ever since FX debuted on Hulu earlier this year, one of its most awaited original shows is The Old Man. The thriller series was first announced in July 2019, with FX ordering a pilot.

The show was expected to come out by Fall 2020 but it is yet to get a premiere date.

Watch the tiniest glimpse of the show revealed by Hulu as part of a bunch of premieres-to-look-out-for video.

What’s it About?

Initially developed and ordered by FX, The Old Man will be part of the angoras original series slate of FX on Hulu. The Old Man is based on the 2017 novel of the same name by Thomas Perry.

It follows a former intelligence officer living off the radar finds himself targeted for assassination and is forced back into the world he left behind.

When Does it Premiere?

This highly-anticipated Hulu thriller was set to premiere a year after it was announced in July 2019, most likely the fall season of 2020.

But considering there have been no announcements, teasers or premiere date yet, we’re afraid the pandemic has got the best of this show too.

The show made regular announcements following the first one, naming cast members, directors, among others.

The July 2019 announcement was followed by a string of casting announcements. Jeff Bridges was cast in September 2019, along with John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman.

Alia Shawkat joined in October and in November, Austin Stowell was added to play a younger version of Bridges’ character.

In February 2020, Kenneth Mitchell disclosed he too had a role in the series. Stowell was recast in March 2020 with Bill Heck, Gbenga AkinnagbeLeem Lubany and EJ Bonilla were also cast.

But that seems to be last we heard of this thriller series, which coincides with the coronavirus breakout in the US. The show is now officially under the TBA (To Be Announced) banner.

The Old Man’s main cast now features Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, and Gbenga Akinnagbe, and is a highly-anticipated and heart-pounding new series that you won’t want to miss whenever it comes out.
