Until recently, there was no other choice than to play in a mixed lobby consisting of console and PC players in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Although the difference wasn’t all that significant in Multiplayer modes, it soon became a disadvantage for a certain class of players in Ranked play. Thankfully, this disparity has ended.
Here’s what’s going on with crossplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Can you Disable Crossplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6?

Yes, you can turn off crossplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
As confirmed by Treyarch, players now have the option to choose whether they want to enable crossplay or not. This feature was added to Black Ops 6 as part of Season 2.
“At the start of Season 02, we implemented new Cross-Play options for Ranked Play that allow players on console to select the platform pool(s) they wish to matchmake with.
We have been keeping a close eye on the conversation surrounding this topic and wanted to share some additional details on how these settings interact with party members who are on different platforms.”
– Treyarch
Check out the patch notes regarding crossplay in Black Ops 6:
- Players in a party who all belong to the same console platform will matchmake with the party leader’s preferred cross-play settings.
- Players who have selected “Cross-Play Off” and create a mixed platform party that includes a different console platform will have their cross-play settings temporarily adjusted to “Cross-Play On (Consoles Only)” to enable matchmaking.
- Players who have selected “Cross-Play Off” and create a mixed platform party with a PC player will have their cross-play settings temporarily adjusted to “Cross-Play On.”
- Adjusting Cross-Play settings may negatively impact matchmaking queue times.
It might just be too soon for celebration though. Several players have reported that their crossplay settings were reset when relaunching Call of Duty. This issue is currently under the scope. You can expect a fix anytime soon.
