How to destroy Annihilator Tanks? Where to find them? Helldivers 2 Guide

There are two types of Tanks in Helldivers 2– Shredder and Annihilator. The latter is a fierce vehicle with a heavy cannon on top and two machine guns, one on the front while the other on the same axis as the cannon. Here’s an easy guide on where to find and destroy Annihilator Tanks.

The best way to find Annihilator Tanks in Helldivers 2 is to play “Eradicate and Evacuate” missions on Suicide Mission difficulty level or above. A single dropship will bring in an Annihilator tank which is equipped with a cannon and a dual-barrel machine gun. 

How to destroy Annihilator Tanks in Helldivers 2?

To destroy an Annihilator Tank, you need heavy explosive Stratagems like the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank Stratagem or the Quasar Cannon. The Annihilator Tank has two vulnerabilities– the turret and the glowing vents in the back. They are definitely weaker than the rest of the tank so make sure to aim your explosives at these spots. 

You can also climb atop the tank to shoot at its vents. Any Stratagem equipped with a heavy weapon like Orbital Lasers, Railguns, a Railcannon strike, the Eagle 500kg Bomb is a smart choice.

Tips & Tricks

You will know when the tank has been damaged enough as smoke and fire will expel out of its vents. Keep striking at it until it finally explodes. 

Getting on top of the tank is a tricky task. By doing so, the cannon or the two machine guns can no longer fire at you. You can also land your pod on top of it which will deal some damage. 

The Annihilator Tank has a long-distance firing range. Although it moves very slowly, it can also run you over. So stick to the sides and the back of the tank.

Annihilator Tanks have a 360 degrees field of view so it is extremely crucial to stay out of its line of fire. You have to keep moving at all times. There’s a small window where the cannon’s muzzle will glow red before firing a second later. This is your chance to seek cover.
