Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Episode 6 Ending Explained: Does Godzilla Appear?

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters episode 6, titled Terrifying Miracles, ends on a suspenseful note with a blend of past and present narratives.

Monarch focuses on two simultaneous timelines, one in the 1950s and the present-day one in 2015. In the 1950s timeline, we see Captain Lee Shaw and Keiko Miura attending a military ball to get more financing for Monarch.

In a stressful environment, Keiko and Lee try to battle their growing romantic feelings for each other. At this point, they get a call from Billy Randa about an emergency related to a Titan.

In the present day, Duvall aligns herself with Lee Shaw and against Monarch. Cate, May and Kentaro join hands with them to go on a mission to find Hiroshi Randa in the African desserts.

The present-day trio remains suspicious of Duvall’s intentions behind joining them, while in the past timeline, Lee and Keiko join Billy about a titan sighting.

The ending of Monarch episode 6 sets up a decisive moment for both timelines, with the emergence of a major Titan. Here’s everything about the ending of episode 6 before we gear up for episode 7!

1. The 1950s Timeline: Does Godzilla Reemerge?

Godzilla makes a much-awaited appearance in Monarch episode 6. Lee, Billy and Keiko are able to lure Godzilla out of hiding with the help of Dr Suzuki’s devise. Godzilla is alive, and the military was unable to kill him.

The 1950s timeline begins with the annual Summer Ball, where Lee and Keiko get a call from Bill about the sighting of a Titan. Although Keiko leaves to join Bill, Lee has to stay back for a budgetary meeting.

Keiko and Lee meet Dr Suzuki, who has devised a machine to lure Titans out of hiding. It’s much like Emma’s ORCA from Godzilla and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

Lee joins them soon after by defying General Puckett’s orders. When Lee and Keiko reunite, Dr Suzuki’s device starts beeping, indicating the emergence of a Titan.

Finally, we see the first glimpse of Godzilla in the series as he emerges from the waters. However, the Titan disappears and heads back to its home soon after.

After returning, Lee wants to inform General Puckett about Godzilla’s reemergence. However, Keiko is against the idea as it would lead them to create more dangerous bombs to kill the monster.

But another problem arises when they arrive at the Monarch headquarters to find out that Lee has been demoted for defying Puckett’s orders. He has been replaced as the commander-in-chief as well.

The 1950s timeline ends at this point, with Lee, Keiko, and Billy confused about the recent developments. Now that they know Godzilla is alive, they are unsure whether to inform Monarch about the same as well.

Meanwhile, in the 2015 timeline, Cate, Kentaro and May, along with Lee and Duvall, head to the African deserts in search of Hiroshi Randa. They follow Hiroshi’s coordinates, although Cate remains doubtful of Duvall’s intentions.

2. The 2015s Timeline: Is Hiroshi Randa alive?

Cate and Kentaro find Hiroshi Randa in the African deserts. He is alive and fit. However, their reunion is short-lived as he heads off somewhere unknown after the appearance of Godzilla.

You’re right; Godzilla also makes a cinematic appearance in the 2015 timeline. Cate and Kentaro spot Hiroshi and wave at him. At first, it appears he’s waving back, but he is actually signaling them to stay away.

Hiroshi packs up and drives away before the kids can reach him while a helicopter appears over their heads. The helicopters belong to Tim and the other Monarch guys, who’ve tracked the gang already.

The ground begins shaking at this point, and Godzilla emerges from within. The monster stares straight at Cate for a while before disappearing once again. The chopper flies too close to Godzilla and crashes into the ground.

After Godzilla disappears once again, Lee and Duvall decide to track the Titan and find out what it is up to. However, the trio decide to look for Hiroshi instead and not follow Godzilla.

3. Did May Betray Cate and Kentaro?

While the trio heads back to follow Hitoshi, May confesses to Cate that she betrayed them. It was May who revealed their exact location to Monarch.

May was on the run and was hiding in Tokyo with a fake name. Monarch found out her truth and blackmailed her to help them with information. In return, she would be allowed to return home safely.

Although May apologizes for her actions and offers to help them with extra money for their expedition, Cate is hurt by her actions and storms off. The next episode will deal with the aftermath of May’s betrayal and how the Randa siblings find their father again.
