No one really expected it but Titanfall launched on Steam before you can say knife. The 2014 FPS game seems to be full of issues and errors. Therefore, it received “Mostly Negative” feedback from gamers.
Everything about Titanfall just brims with glitches. Matchmaking issues subsist. Even after installing the DLC packs, they are not applied to the game.
A Steam user, Mataro Zeliph, even vented by saying “Game servers are broken. I cannot get past the main menu and I am kicked from multiplayer matchmaking”.
He further added, “If I do get into multiplayer matchmaking, the game says that I don’t have DLC map packs installed, even though steam shows that I have all DLC installed from the property steam menu.”
Then comes a highly irritating static audio that makes Titanfall unplayable.
One user said “The one time I did manage to get into the training, which I played through with a static-y noise every time a sound was supposed to happen. I restarted the game hoping that would help, which it didn’t.”
Luckily, the headache that the hissing noise gave us can now go away. On Steam’s discussion forum, DJ Sonic gave us a solution.
- Firstly, you’ll have to look for file cam_list in the Steam\steamapps\common\Titanfall\vpk directory.
- Then you’ll drag it into audio_installer in Steam\steamapps\common\Titanfall\vpk directory. This will extract the audio files and give your ears some rest.
It must be noted that by applying this method, an error message will appear while you’re playing the game. But at least the static noise will cease to exist!
Even though DJ Sonic is an absolute mad lad, it’s still a transitory fix. If Titanfall were an Indie game, I would understand such mishaps. But it’s Electronic Arts, a company with state of the art facilities. EA need to sort this mess as soon as possible!
