Kiyomori, in a power play, decides to shift the capital to Fukuhara, showing the people that not even the royal family has any say in front of the Heike’s might.
As soon as Koremori, Kiyotsune, and Biwa get to Fukuhara, they make friends with Atsumori and go moon watching. Shigehira looks uncomfortable as Atsumori mentions his burning temples to win the war.
Lord Yoritomo starts a rebellion against the Heike and sends Koremori to quell the uprising. Being the soft-hearted man he is, will he succeed?
Episode 7 Speculations
Ever since the opening scene of episode six, characters have been complaining about the great mistake of shifting capital. It is a significant move that could potentially lead to Heike’s decline.
The burning of temples and idols that Shigehira unwillingly undertook seems to be a sensitive topic for him. Is it only guilt that disturbs him, or does he fear divine retribution?
Koremori, as described by his brother, has always been a scaredy-cat. He will likely put more effort into war activities. But whether he really will become a great warrior or not is another question.
