Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Director Adam Wingard has teased an eight-minute fight sequence between the Titans without any human intervention whatsoever.

The G-Man and the Monster Monkey are back to save the world and resume their reign as Gods on Earth. This time, their title will be challenged by a tyrannical ancient ape called the Skar King, who lives within the gallows of the Hollow Earth.

In an interview with IGN, Adam Wingard establishes that the upcoming movie will focus solely on the clash between the Titans with very little human intervention.

Read his quote below:

So much of the film is entirely animated CG shots; so much of it is just pure imagination. We have some sequences going up to about eight minutes long, where it’s just the monsters doing their thing, and so the movie really allows the monsters to tell their own narrative in a visual, nonverbal way.

Fans of the Monsterverse have always wanted Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire to be as devoid of human interaction as possible, and the makers have answered their calls.

Although the cast will feature familiar faces like Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle, they will likely play a minimal role in the entire narrative. The film’s premise will be all about monsters and their power struggle.

Monsterverse creatives, till now, have been more human-centric, and monsters have just been included to narrate a particular facet of the story. However, the upcoming film shifts the focus by humanizing the Titans and establishing their purpose in the story.

Godzilla and Kong will forget their past differences and reunite to save the world against the wrath of the Skar King and his army.

Lastly, the new iterations of the Titans will significantly increase their power in the upcoming film. The trailer shows Godzilla with his majestic pink spikes and an upgraded atomic breath. On the other hand, Kong is shown to be sporting a new gauntlet in his right fist, like Thanos.

All these theories, questions and wonderings will be answered on April 12, 2024, with the release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Got the rare talent to binge an entire show in a single sitting just like that. Although a sucker for psychological thrillers, no bias for any genre when it comes to a good story. A living proof that Netflix and chill is not a myth!
