In the last and the 13th Episode of Fruits Basket The Final, the story came to an end as Kyo and Tohru lived happily ever after. They got married, had a son, and later, a granddaughter too.
In the episode, everyone said their final goodbyes to Kyo and Tohru and hoped they’d live their whole life filled with happiness and love. The conversation between Tohru and Yuki was equally heart-wrenching.

Yuki finally called Tohru by her first name as they had a deep, platonic conversation. It indicates that their relationship will be less complicated from now on, even if they’ll not live in the same house anymore.
As much as I’m glad they parted ways on good terms, I’m also sad because we will not see them around anymore. Even in the spin-off series, it will be more focused on Kyoko’s side of the story.
A new anime based on Tohru’s parents has been decided and will air sometime next year!
On the other hand, Rin struggled with the idea of moving on and acting as nothing happened. Her heart is really messed up, but we hope that she does better in the coming years.

On the day of graduation, Tohru and Kyo enjoy their date at a zoo, where Hanajima and Uotani also tag along. After an emotional moment when Uotani and Hanajima tells Kyo to take care of Tohru always, they go to a cat cafe.
As Kyo watches Tohru snuggling a cat, he remembers the day when he was free from the curse. Tohru picked up the beads of his bracelet as a way of protecting him.
He realizes that maybe loving someone means embracing their past and future too, and not just the present.
Meanwhile, Yuki tells about his plan for college to Kakeru. Just when they start talking about Machi, she arrives. After Yuki gives a key of his house to Machi, they lock their lips gazing out of the window.
The same day, Kyo and Tohru clean their rooms in Shigure’s house as they prepare to leave the next day. Tohru recalls the day Yuki and Shigure brought her into that room. She also reminds Kyo of their first meeting when he broke the roof, embarrassing Kyo.
Meanwhile, all the Sohma members feel sad about Kyo and Tohru leaving the following day but also feel happy for their next journey together. Everyone remembers their memorable moments with Tohru, and hope that she would be always happy with Kyo.
Later, Yuki goes to the living room to tell Tohru how thankful he is. He explains that he was bad at interacting with people until she arrived, and this is what everyone thinks about her.
He gets emotional and adds that even though she will be living in a different environment from now on, everyone will keep thinking about her every day because they love her.
In the end, a little girl calls for Tohru and Kyo, but her mom interrupts she should not call her grandparents by name.
The story ends with a beautiful scene of Tohru and Kyo at their old age, taking a walk in a flower park with their fingers locked to each other.
