Everyone heaped praises, be it industry experts or enthusiasts when Fractal Design announced the launch of its spanking new Torrent PC case. From stupendous features to a staggering airflow level, this PC case offered it all!
However, it soon came to the company’s notice that some of its Nexus 9P Slim Fan Hubs are defective and could cause a short circuit. Fractal Design wasted no time, looked into the issue, and re-evaluated the circuit board design.
After some rigorous checking, it was concluded that the Torrent case was damaged during manufacturing. Consequently, Fractal put a temporary halt on the sales of the PC case until the Fan Hub solution isn’t worked out.
In a formal announcement, Fractal Design said:
“We remain committed to the quality of our products, and the Nexus 9P Slim Fan Hub included with the Torrent does not live up to the standards customers expect from us. Our development team is working tirelessly to design and manufacture an updated version that will address these issues as soon as possible.”

Fractal has currently received less than five consumer complaints regarding the problem.
The most important thing to note is that even with 4-5 complaints, the company didn’t play any blame game. It’s easy to point fingers at consumers or the media but standing up to your own shortcomings..that takes courage!
Giants like Gigabyte and NZXT can definitely learn a thing or two from this case.
I was reading the opinion of every enthusiast on several forums and, of course, YouTube comments. Now usually, when a mishap happens, the liable company gets a lot of hate.
This wasn’t the case here. By admitting a recurring issue and promising to rectify it, Fractal has surely won over the internet!
For the time being, Torrent owners have been advised to unplug the fan hub. As per Fractal guidelines, the Torrent functions well without the fan hub as well.
The company has also asked owners to fill in a form so as to get the replacement kit delivered to them as soon as possible.
Moreover, if you don’t want to wait for the replacement kit’s arrival, then you must know that Fractal is “coordinating with retail partners to enable a smooth refund process.”
